LeAnn Rimes Turns Onstage Dental Mishap Into a Moment of Humor and Resilience
During a recent live show in Washington, country-pop star LeAnn Rimes faced an unexpected and potentially embarrassing moment when her dental bridge fell out in the middle of a song. But rather than letting the incident derail her performance, the veteran singer handled it with humor and grace, earning praise from fans and proving that, indeed, the show must go on.
The 42-year-old singer, famed for hits like “Can’t Fight the Moonlight,” was performing at Skagit Valley Casino & Resort in Bow, Washington, when her front dental bridge suddenly loosened during her rendition of “One Way Ticket.”
Rimes later shared the story on Instagram, calling it “the most epic example of how the show must go on.” She explained, “Last night, I was mid-song when I felt something pop in my mouth. If you know me, you know I’ve had many dental surgeries—and yes, I have a bridge in the front. Well, it fell out right in the middle of the song.”
With quick thinking, she paused, told the audience “Hold on!”, dashed offstage to fix the problem, and promptly popped the bridge back into place before returning to finish the concert like a seasoned professional. “I had to be honest with the crowd. Either I explained what was happening or walked off,” she said. “So I just kept pushing my teeth back in between lines and kept singing.”
Rimes added with a laugh, “It was a first for me… and hopefully the last! Fingers crossed my teeth stay put tonight!” She even joked with the front row, saying, “If something flies out, catch it and bring it back, please!”
The singer’s candid, lighthearted approach has resonated with fans and fellow performers alike, serving as a reminder that the show can—and should—go on, even in the face of awkward setbacks.
This incident isn’t the first time Rimes has dealt with onstage health challenges. In 2014, she suffered a dislocated jaw during a concert in Oklahoma, which forced her to cancel the encore. At the time, she wrote, “Oklahoma! I love you. Sorry for no encore—my jaw popped and I can’t hear out of my left ear. #tmjsucks.”

Rimes has been open about her long history of dental issues. She filed a malpractice lawsuit in 2013 after alleging years of pain and complications caused by misdiagnosed dental work. By 2015, she had undergone nearly 30 dental procedures.
Despite these challenges, Rimes remains undeterred, continuing to tour and perform with unwavering professionalism. Her recent dental mishap, handled with poise and humor, further cements her reputation as a resilient and dedicated artist.
In turning a potentially embarrassing moment into one of levity and strength, LeAnn Rimes showed fans and fellow artists alike that even unexpected setbacks onstage don’t have to dim the spotlight—they can make it shine even brighter.
