Mysterious start
The child was left at the feet of the orphanage at night – strong, fragile and wrapped in a thin blanket.
No note, no explanation, just a child with strikingly pale skin and white hair. Who left her there? And why? As the years have passed, the truth remained a secret, but what no one could predict was that this abandoned child one day resisted chances and become a world famous model, decorates the pages of Vogue Italia and walking tracks around the world.
From orphanage to an international star
When Xueli Abbing was abandoned as a child, she had no idea she would grow up as a Vogue model. But after several unexpected vomit in life, she achieved international recognition at the age of only 16 years. It is a testimony of the unpredictability of fate – how life can have the most anticipated turns.
The orphanage named it Xue for “Snow” and if for “beautiful”. As a child, Xueli was left at Prague, perhaps because of her appearance or as a result of Chinese policy of one child. Despite her difficult start, the staff in the orphanage took care of her and soon adopted by the loving family of the Netherlands.

In many cultures, albinism is misunderstood and feared. In some regions of Africa, children with albinism face extreme danger – some are even hunted in parts of the body due to deeply rooted superstitions.

At the age of 11, Xueli was introduced into the world of modeling. Her adoptive mother associated with a designer’s friend who launched a campaign called “Perfect Imperson” – a movement involving unconventional beauty. It was an opportunity to change Xuel’s life forever.
“Then I was invited to a few photography, one of them with Brock Elbank in London.” He shared my portrait on Instagram, and that is when Zebedee’s talent modeling agency reached. They asked if I wanted to join their mission and bring more proportion to people with disabilities in the fashion industry. ”

Her big break came when one of her Brock photographs was shown in the edition of Vogue Italia in June 2019, along with the cover in the lead role of Lana del Rey.

Breaking stereotypes in the fashion industry
Xueli has worked with photographers who respect her vision and allow her creative check in how it is displayed. It seeks to question outdated stereotypes, especially those surrounding Albinism.
“There are still models that are incredibly high and thin, but now people with disabilities and media differences are more common. That’s great, but it should be normal. Models with albinism often come as angels or ghosts, and that will upset me. This supports superstitions that exhibit children with albinism in places like Tanzania and Malawi. ”

There is nothing extraordinary since the Xueli’s journey, which is an abandoned child in China to the international model. Her function in Vogue Italia was just the beginning. Since then, she has passed the tracks, has participated in high -ranking fashion shooting, and modeled brands like Kurt Geiger.

When Xueli Abbing was left in an orphanage as a newborn, no one could anticipate that one day Vogue’s pages. Yet, through unexpected twists and turns, it has become an international model at the age of 16. Life has a way of leading people down the roads they never imagined.
New beginning
The orphanage named it Xue, which means “snow” and if, which means “beautiful”. She had albinism, a rare genetic state, and was probably abandoned because of her appearance or the Chinese policy of one child. However, the nurses in the orphanage appreciated and soon adopted by a loving family from the Netherlands.
Burglary into the world of fashion
In many cultures, albinism is misunderstood and even worried. In some parts of Africa, children with albinism face serious dangers, because their parts of the body are used in rituals because of false beliefs about their magical qualities.

At the age of just 11 years, Xueli’s modeling journey began. Her mother joined with a designer friend working on a campaign called Perfect Imperfection and she immediately saw the potential in Xueli.
“Then I was invited to several photoshoots, one of which was with photographer Brock Elbank in London.” He shared my portrait on Instagram and soon reached out agency for modeling talent Zebedee. They asked if I wanted to join them in my mission to increase the representation of people with disabilities in the fashion industry. ”

One of Brock’s Xueli photographs ended up in Vogue Italia in June 2019, in the same edition, which was Lana Del Rey on the cover. At that time Xueli fully understood how significant success was.

Redefine the norms of beauty

“There are still models that are incredibly high and very thin, but now there are more include people with disabilities and media differences, which is amazing. But that should be the norm. Albinism models are often displayed as angels or ghosts, which I regret. It strengthens the harmful beliefs that children with albinism in places like Tanzania and Malawi are threatened. ”
