Lux Pascal’s Journey of Transformation
Lux Pascal’s life is marked by durability and self-knowledge. Previously known as Lucas Balmaceda, she fully accepted her identity and produces waves in the acting world.
Lux, born on June 4, 1992, in California, comes from a family deeply rooted in Chilean political and aristocratic history. Her parents, José Balmaceda Riera and Verónica Pascal Ureta, belong to the influential family of Balmaced, known for their heritage of Castilian Basque.
Her family life after the Chilean coup of 1973 was drastic. Lux’s mother, Verónica, had links to Andrés Pascal Allende – with former Chilean President Salvador Allende and a key figure in the revolutionary movement. Because of these contexts, the family was forced to exile and initially sought refuge in Denmark before eventually settling in San Antonio, Texas.
Later they moved to Orange County, where her older brother Pedro grew up. But when Lux was only three years old, the family returned to Chile, where she spent most of her childhood.

“From the beginning she ruled the house.” When we visited my older sister, we felt like intruders, ”Esquire said. “Our mother was her mother, but for us, to think we were entitled to her attention, she was absurd.”
Watching her passion for playing
Lux’s love for playing flourished when she studied theater at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. Her determination to the vessel later took her to the prestigious Juilliard School in New York.

Her acting career began in 2014, during her fourth year of theater studios when she made her debut in Pablo Rotemberg La Noche Stabinada. In the same year, she secured her first television role in the series Canal 13 Los 80 and depicted the character of Axel Miller.

Accepts her true identity
In February 2021, a lawyer was published as a transgender woman and accepted her mother’s surname as her new identity.
Her way of self-knowledge began when she first identified herself as a homosexual man. Later she came out as non-coal before she finally recognized her true self as a woman.
“It was easy to come out like a homosexual, but it wasn’t what I was,” Lux shared. “It was just a step, not my last truth.”
It started hormonal therapy in 2020, which is an important milestone in its transition.
“My transition was quite natural for my family,” she revealed in an interview. “They almost expected to happen.”

Pedro Pascal was a persistent supporter of his sister during her transition. He was one of the first to know when Lux came out as a transgender and made it quickly.
“How do you feel?” He asked her through FaceTime. When Lux replied that she was happy, he simply said, “Perfect. That’s incredible. ”
