Ann Fisher has always believed that life was watching a certain rhythm – childbirth, love, loss, and quiet settling of old age.
But nothing prepared her for a storm that would support her world or a stranger who would enter her life and change everything. It all began with the only unexpected decision that shocked her husband, broke her marriage, and eventually led her to discover the love she thought she had lost forever.
Ann Fisher lost her mother when she was fifty -two. Ann and her mother, Fiona, were very close and her loss destroyed her. Ann was a mother and a wife, but nothing filled the vacuum of Ilona, which remained in her life.
A week after Fion’s graduation, a retirement home in which she lived, Ann called Ann and asked her to pick up her mother’s personal effects. What no one expected, nor Ann, was that he would not come home alone.
When Ann entered the retirement house, the memories of her mother flooded back and she had to suppress sobbing. She headed for the reception and asked about her mother’s things.
“Lady. Fisher,” the receptionist said sympathetic.
The receptionist was interrupted by crying, “Annie? Annie Carson? “The voice asked. “Are you?”
Ann turned and saw a fragile older woman in front of her. “Lady. Gove?” She gasped. “Oh my God!” It’s been more than thirty years. “
Mrs. Gove limp and put her hands around Ann. “Oh, Ann,” she whispered. “Seeing you is almost like again with my Simon!”
Ann hugged Mrs. Gove and her eyes flooded with tears. Simon … How long has it been since she’s been thinking about Simon for the last time? Probably since Mandy was born, and she has finally closed peace with her past.
But once, when she was happy, alive Annie Carson, was in love, madly, completely in love with Simon Gove. They met at a college at the campus bar.
Ann was sitting with her roommates when she was suddenly mixed into an ice-cold beer. With an angry cry, she jumped on her feet, just to see her face to face with the most beautiful boy she had ever seen.
“I’m very sorry!” The boy shouted. “Please forgive me!” Anne opened her mouth to remember, but the boy fell to her knees in front of her.
“You’re so beautiful,” he said. “And that was the only way I remembered to attract your attention, made you notice that I was alive.” Please forgive me and say that you will marry me! ”
Ann laughed and Mae, her roommate, exclaimed, “Annie, the guy deserves and+ for effort! I’ll take him! ”
It was a wonderful night, and when Simon kissed her on the door of her dormitory later at night, she knew she would never, would never want to kiss anyone else.
‘Ann and Simon were inseparable from that night, and when he proposed two years later two years later, she accepted. He took her home to meet his parents who were very helpful.
“You’re the first girl Simon has ever brought home,” Mrs. Gove exclaimed. “And you’re the nicest thing I’ve ever seen – he was right about it!”
Ann laughed. “You can’t believe Simon, you know!” she cried. “It’s the threads!”
Mrs. Gove took Annie’s hand to her. “No, my dear,” she said. “My Simon adores you and I think he found the right girl!”
At the end of the visit, Mrs. Gove and Ann were best friends. And when Simon met Annna’s mother, Mrs. Carson was delighted with her daughter’s engagement.
Ann then believed that she was living a fairy tale, that everything was perfect. She was 23 and was about to become a teacher and marry the man of her dreams.
Then two days before the wedding, Ann and her mother went to pick up the dress, and when they returned home, Simon’s father was sitting on Prague his head between his hands.
“Mr..Gove,” Ann shouted. “What are you doing here so soon?
Mr. Gove dropped his hands and fought his feet, and when she saw his devastated face, Ann knew that something terrible would happen.
“Annie,” he whispered. “Annie, it’s our Simon.” Last night there was a traffic accident, and he and his friend Davi, “A terrible sound half screaming, half sob Mr. Gov.
“No!” Annie screamed. She advanced and pushed Mr. Gove. “Liar! Liar! Liar!” Ann crashed into the house, up the stairs, and locked in her room.
She was lying on the bed and letting her wash her. “Liar!” She whispered. “He’s a liar!” My Simon is fine. It’s okay. ”
A little later she heard someone who knocked on the door. “Annie,” she heard Mrs. Gove say”Please let me in.” Ann heard a pain in the voice of Simon’s mother.
She couldn’t tell her no if she heard the pain she had heard so precisely. She got up and opened the door. “My love,” Mrs. Gove said. “Our Simon is gone.”
Both women kept and cried until no tears were left. “Simon will always live in our hearts,” said Mrs. Gove after Ann’s funeral.
“You’re very young, Ann,” she said. “You will wake up one of these days and find that it is a beautiful day, despite pain.” And maybe the next day you can meet a young man and find that you can love someone else. And that’s okay. That’s life. This does not mean that you love Simon less, it just means that you are people and that you are recovering. ”
Ann listened to tears that ran down her cheekand shook her head after refusal. “No!” She cried.
“Yes,” Mrs. Gove said gently. “Because Simon would like it.” He loved you so much, Annie, and would do anything for you, so do it for him – be happy. ”
Now, almost thirty years later, Ann stood with Mrs. Gove. “Why are you here?” Ann asked. “Mr. Gove.”
A woman who mourns over the recent loss of her mother makes a decision to change her life to bring home an older woman from a nursing home, a lot to disgust her husband who immediately left her.
Ann Fisher lost her mother Fion at the age of fifty -two. They both shared a deep bond, and Fiona was going to Ann’s heart. Although she was a devoted wife and mother, nothing could fulfill the void that her mother had left.
A week after Fion’s funeral, Ann accepted a call from home for retirement where her mother lived and asked her to collect her mother’s things. What no one expected – including Ann himself – was that he would not return home alone.
When she entered the nursing home, the waves of memories amazed her and almost led her to tears. She approached the reception to ask about the effects of her mother.
“Mrs. Fisher,” he said receptionist compassionate, “If you want, we can load things of your mother into your car.”
Before Ann could answer, he called in his voice, “Annie? Annie Carson? Is it really you? ”
Ann turned and found herself face to face with a fragile older woman. “Mrs. Gove?” She gasped. “I can’t believe it was over thirty years!”
With the setup, Mrs. Gove approached and hugged Ann. “Oh, Ann,” she murmured, tears in her eyes. “I see how it brings memories of my Simon!”
Anna’s heart gripped. Simon. How long has it been because she dared to think about him? Years, perhaps not since Mandy was born and she has finally moved from her past.
Once, when she was carefree Annie Carson, she loved Simon Gove with all her heart. Their love story began unexpectedly at college, in the middle of the campus bar.
Ann was sitting with her roommates when she was suddenly spraying ice of ice. She jumped in outrage just to meet the most beautiful boy she had ever seen.
“I’m sorry!” The boy cried. “Please forgive me!” Before Ann could say something, he dropped dramatically to his knees. “You’re so beautiful and I didn’t know how to attract your attention.” Please forgive me and say that you will marry me! ”
Ann broke into laughter, and her roommate Mae teased, “Annie, this guy deserves and+ for effort! I’ll take him! ”
That night was magical. Later, when Simon kissed her good night at her entrance to the track, she knew – he was the one.
Their love flourished and two years later Simon designed Real. He took her home to meet his parents and his mother, Mrs. Gove, warmly welcomed her. “Simon never brought the girl home before,” she said, shining. “And you’re as nice as he described.”
Ann laughed. “You can’t believe Simon – it’s a terrible thread!”
But Mrs. Gove took Ann’s hand and said, “No, dear. My Simon adores you and I believe he found the right one. ”
At the end of this visit, Ann and Mrs. Gove became expensive friends. Everything looked perfect. Ann was about to become a teacher, marrying with the love of her life and living her dream.
But two days before the wedding, a tragedy hit. Ann and her mother returned home from picking up her dress and found that Simon’s father was sitting in Prague, his face buried in his hands.
“Mr. Gove?” Ann asked nervously. “Why are you here so soon?”
When he looked up, his expression was destroyed. “Annie,” he whispered. “It’s Simon.” Last night there was a traffic accident … He and his friend David … They … “His voice broke into a strangled sob.
“No!” Ann screamed and pushed him away. “You lie!” She crashed into the house until her room, locked the door,, and refused to accept what she had just heard.
Later, her sorrow was interrupted by a soft knocking. “Annie,” Mrs. Gove called. “Please let me in.”
Ann couldn’t deny her. She opened the door, and both women held each other and cried until there were no more tears.
“Simon will always live in our hearts,” Mrs. Gove told her at the funeral. “One day you wake up and realize that life continues.” Maybe you will find love again and that’s okay. That doesn’t mean you love Simon. It just means healing. ”
Ann denied her head. But now, the state before Mrs. Gove thirty years later, she saw the truth in these words.
“Why are you here?” Ann asked gently.
Mrs. Gove sighed. “Alfred died six months ago.” He had Alzheimer’s disease. After he was gone, I sold our house and moved here. ”
“My mother was here,” Ann said. “She just died.” I miss it. ”
Mrs. Gove hugged Ann. “Being a woman often means being alone,” she said quietly.
Ann looked at the fragile woman and decided. “Maybe … maybe not.”
That afternoon Ann arrived home with Mrs. Gove to the curtain. Her husband, Jack, greeted her with a smile – until he had seen his guest.
“Who is it?” Asked and narrowed his eyes.
“This is Mrs. Gove,” Ann said. “Dear old friend.” He moves with us. ”
“What?!” Jack exploded. “You can’t bring someone like that!”
Ann stood tight. “You always said my mother was welcome.”
“But in fact, she never moved in!” Jack protested.
“Because she didn’t like you,” Ann replied. “And now I see why.”
Jack mocked. “If the woman stays, I’m leaving.”
“Go ahead,” Ann said calmly. “You were absent in my life anyway.”
That night Jack slept on the couch. The following morning he packed the bags and left.
Ann explained this to her daughter, Mandy, through Skype. “Mom, I understand why you threw away your dad, but why take a random old woman?”
“Not random, Mandy.” She is the mother of the man I once loved. And I care about her. ”
Over time, Mandy gave up Mrs. Gove and both approached. Ann found a feeling of peace and purpose she hadn’t felt for years.
Two years later, Mrs. Gove’s health dropped. Ann stayed at her side to the very end and held her hand when she took a breath last and whispered Simon’s name.
After the funeral, Ann was shocked when the lawyer contacted her. Mrs. Gove has left her entire assets – Worth over $ 1.7 million – for Ann.
Will is: “Anne Carson Fisher was supposed to be my daughter, but fate had other plans. Finally, she became my daughter in all respects that mattered. ”
Soon after, Jack called. His voice flowed a fake charm. “Ann, gold … Maybe we should give our marriage another shot.”
Ann laughed coldly. “Jack, I’d rather be to the hell first.” And she hung up with it and left her past – and Jack – for good.
Ann hung a phone with a deep sense of finality. She spent too many years trying to hold something that had long ago disintegrated. Now she had a new beginning – a life full of peace, love, and memories of those who really weighed it.
Over the next few months, Ann used part of her heritage to support the causes close to her heart. She donated to a retirement house where her mother and Mrs. Gove lived and ensured that others did not feel as they had once. She also took the time to travel, something she had always postponed.
Mandy often visited and their bond deepened the ways Ann never expected. They laughed, shared stories, and honored the past while they accepted the future. Ann talked about Simon more openly, no longer felt the heart of a heartbreak- just the warmth of love that formed her.
One morning Ann was sitting on the porch, drinking coffee as the sun rose. She smiled at herself and felt lighter than in the years. Life had a strange way of bringing people in a full circle, to offer a second chance when they least expected it. She loved, lost, and yet – she found love, in friendship, in the family, and most importantly, in her.
And for the first time in a long time, Ann felt really, deeply happy.
