It seemed to have been a marriage that failed since the beginning.
Matthew, a man who wanted only one thing – a son who continued his name – could not accept the daughters they received instead. But that wasn’t the only problem.
His behavior has grown with each year, and what was supposed to be a family of love and support soon turned into a house full of tension and heart break. Anne, who devoted herself to her five daughters, found herself imprisoned in a relationship where she was not only underestimated but completely ignored.
She knew little, the end of her marriage would mean the beginning of a brand new chapter in her life, which she could never predict.
Matthew divorced with Anna because she couldn’t give him a son, yet he continued his life in their house. Eventually Anne joined Harry, a long -time school friend, and realized how happier Matthew was. A few years later, when Anne unexpectedly crashed into her ex -husband, she didn’t even recognize him.
“Harry! It’s so good to see you!” Anne exclaimed as she hit her friend of the old school on the street. She left five daughters with her mother for a rare break and was on coffee in Seattle.
“Anne, it’s great to see you too! What if we grabbed coffee and caught up?” He suggested Harry.
Anne agreed and both went to the café. They talked for a while before Harry asked about her family.
“Well … that’s a little hard object,” she started.
“Returning five children is never easy,” Harry said.
“Yeah, it’s difficult, but it’s more than just,” Anne continued. “Matthew changed after our twins were born. Now they are nine and barely talk to him. I think they are afraid of him.”
“I don’t understand,” Harry said confused.
“Matthew wanted a son. We tried, but we still had girls. When our fifth daughter was born, Matthew became a completely different person. He asked for divorce and I’m not sure what to do,” Anne explained.
“That sounds so hard,” Harry said sympathetic. “But think about it – without it you are better.
“Now that I’m here in Seattle, I could help. You could even move in with me,” Harry said.
Anne was impressed by Harry’s offer. She knew he fell in love with his back at school, but that was too much. She appreciated his generosity, but could not accept such an offer and changed the object, instead focused on his successful life.
Meanwhile, things in Annie’s house continued to deteriorate. Although they divorced, Matthew was still living there, acting as if he was single – particles, making noise all the time, awakening children and being a general inconvenience.
Anne continued his interview with Harry and his offer to help was still standing. But when Matthew brought a woman to his house, Anne had enough.
She packed her stuff, called Harry and left with all the girls. The divorce proceedings were complicated when Anne took Matthew in court to get her big house back. Although she lived with Harry, Matthew did not want to keep her home. The judge granted her every request on the basis of an irresponsible lifestyle of Matthew and undoubtedly granted her full custody.
Finally Anne and Harry fell in love. He bought a larger house for his growing family, and when Anne and the girls moved with him, she rented her old house and stopped thinking about Matthew for years.
A year after he married Harry, Anne had a son Alan. Five girls adored him, and Anne couldn’t be happier.
One day, after picking up Alan from preschool age, Anne stopped at the mall to buy new shoes. At that time it unexpectedly came across Matthew.
He worked in Pretzel’s shop, gave out samples, and Alan ran and asked for him.
“Alane, don’t run like that!” Anne called just to see Matthew’s surprised expression.
“Anne?” He asked and recognized her.
“Matthew? What are you doing here?” She asked, noticing his uniforms and a pretzel. It didn’t make sense – Matthew worked as a executive and was supposed to pay considerable support of the child, which he never did. But now he worked in a minimum wage store.
“I’m working here,” he replied, looking down. “Is he your son?”
“Yes, this is Alan,” Anne replied. “He’s Harry’s son.”
“Nice to meet you, Alane,” Matthew said, offering the boy a strange look. “Listen, Anne, I didn’t want to raise it now, but I lost everything. I wonder if we could sell our old house.”
Anne hesitant. “It’s rented at the moment, but I’m thinking about it. But we have to go now. I’ll call you about the house.”
She went away and left Matthew behind and still didn’t realize what he had fired. But she decided to be a larger person – she sold the house and gave him half his value, although she could legally maintain the whole thing. Her conscience told her to do what’s right.
Matthew later asked to see the girls, but none of them wanted it. The twins, now teenagers, have happened to hate him, and the younger girls followed their leadership. Matthew stopped asking them and finally stopped calling. They never saw him again. He was no longer part of their family.
ConclusionÂ
Anna’s journey was one of the personal growth and durability. After years of life under Matthew’s control and selfish behavior, she found happiness and stability through her re -connection with Harry.
While Matthew’s actions caused immense pain, Anne decided to lift over her and find love and support in the new chapter of her life. Although Matthew returned and was looking for redemption and a second chance, Anne remained firm in her decision to prefer her children and their well -being.
In the end, the family Anne stood up with Harry, who was stronger than anything she had with her ex -husband. Matthew’s absence in their lives has shown that sometimes how to move means to leave behind those who have never really weighed you.
Anne’s story is a testimony to the strength of resistance, forgiveness and belief that better things lie in front of us when you take control of your own happiness.
