Then, on January 12, 2015, Erica was admitted to the hospital due to high blood pressure. She messaged Carlos, informing him that the doctors wanted to deliver the babies right away. 

Carlos hastened to the medical center. They captured memories by taking photos and videos together, cherishing the moments before she underwent surgery. Carlos leaned in and kissed her, saying, ‘let’s get these babies out.’ Neither of them knew how drastically life was about to change.
