The first night, however, after the children were put to bed, Cindy’s mind crammed with annoying suspicion. What if Sam had a side motive? What if he cheated on her?
For four nights, these thoughts bothered me. She couldn’t shake her doubts, finally made a courageous decision – arranged a nanny, left the hotel and went home, determined to reveal the truth.
When she quietly opened the front door, the unexpected look stiffened on the spot. She was sitting on the couch and randomly sipping tea from her own cup, with Cindy, her father-in-law, and Donna.
“Well, see who’s early,” Donna said smugly.
Cindy was hard to ask, “What are you doing?” before Donna cut it off.
“Do you think he didn’t tell you that I came?” She added, just when Sam came out of the kitchen, he didn’t know about the return of Cindy.
“Cindy! You’re … at home,” he stamped.
Cindy stared at him. “And you didn’t think it’s worth mentioning, Sam?”
That night, unable to sleep, Cindy heard a heated conversation between her husband and his mother. Donna spoke badly about Cindy, but to her surprise, she stood on the ground and defended her wife and mother of her children.
Then, in a move that Cindy had never expected, he boldly kicked his mother out. Although Donna hurled more insults, he did not.
He thought Cindy slept, then left the house quietly, raised his children from the hotel, and returned home just as the sun rose.
Before Cindy woke up, the air filled with he smell of freshly made breakfast. When she opened her eyes, she met a gentle kiss alone.
It was his way to say, I choose you.
