During the interview, Drew pointed out a common problem that American tourists who want to visit other countries often face: obtaining a visa in politically unstable areas.
“I finally got a visa at the Venezuelan embassy, but it was difficult because of the sanctions and the political tension between the US and Venezuela,” he said, describing his most difficult experience entering the country. However, I managed to arrange it at the last minute.’

Despite these challenges, Drew’s travels have left him with priceless memories, especially from his contacts with native cultures. “I enjoy visiting the indigenous tribes because it shows a different side of the world that is not so consumed by technology and electronics,” Drew said.
He intends to continue traveling to tribes in South America, India, and Africa, as he finds these experiences humbling. “It’s humbling to meet people and see how they live in remote places; I plan to continue visiting them [indigenous tribes] mostly in Africa, but also in South America and India.”

He said: “I’ve never had a problem getting to know other people and making them comfortable on camera.” His ease of communication with people around the world allowed him to record their lives and tell their stories to a large audience.
