Man with 120 Wives, 102 Children, and 568 Grandchildren Announces He’s Done Growing His Family

In a peaceful countryside village in Uganda, one man’s name has become synonymous with an extraordinary number of family members—and now, surprising transformation.

Musa hasahya, a 67-year-old farmer known for fathering over a hundred children with a dozen wives, has made a surprising announcement: he’s officially calling it quits on expanding his family.

Once hailed as a symbol of virility and patriarchal pride, hasahya now finds himself at the center of a very different conversation—one driven not by tradition or legacy, but by financial strain, dwindling resources, and the harsh realities of modern life.

What caused this prolific patriarch to break a long-standing pattern of marriage and childbirth? The solution, he asserts, is uncomplicated yet disheartening. 

A ugandan man who has fathered an astounding 102 children has declared that he’s officially done expanding his family—citing financial hardships as the driving reason behind his decision. 

Musa hasahya, a 67-year-old farmer, is a proud father of 102 children and a loving grandfather to 568 grandchildren. Due to increasing financial pressures, hasahya has now requested his wives to start using birth control.

All of Hasahya’s wives reside in the same household, which he claims facilitates his oversight of them and deters them from seeking companionship elsewhere in the village. 

His youngest wife, 31-year-old zukaika, who is the mother of 11 of his children, supports the decision. ‘i’m done having children,’ she said. ‘we’re facing serious financial difficulties, and i’ve started using contraceptives.’. 

Hasahya’s youngest child is six years old, while his oldest is 51, which is 20 years older than his youngest wife. Because of his ongoing health problems, hasahya is unable to work, and two of his wives have already left the household due to financial difficulties. 

His journey as a family man commenced in 1971 when he tied the knot with his first wife, Hanifa, at the tender age of 16. He left school shortly after, and the couple welcomed their first daughter two years later, as reported by mirror.

Over the years, hasahya established a successful business and acquired land, enabling him to provide for a larger family. However, after experiencing years of growth, his fortunes took a downturn, making it impossible for him to sustain his large family. 

Now, Hasahya is seeking help from the government, particularly in terms of covering the education expenses for his numerous children.
