My Future In-Laws Are Unaware That I Own the Home They Live In and That I Was Kicked Out

I have always thought that the dynamics of the family are straight – love, respect, and support are the basis of any healthy relationship.

But when my daughter, Lisa, got engaged to Ric, everything I thought I knew was questioned. What began as a happy opportunity has quickly spiraled into a number of worrying revelations about the Ric family,

which let me question their motives. I knew a little that the way to their wedding would be filled with unexpected twists and the bets would have been higher than I had ever imagined. Here’s the way the story has developed …

Ellen is excited when her daughter Lisa accepts a marriage from her friend, Ric. However, things turn dramatically when it turns out that the parents of the castors are difficult to deal with. Will the wedding still happen?

Here is how it all developed.

My husband David and I decided to give her a house to graduate. It was a modest home, but it was perfect for her to start her life after medical school. David and I agreed that throughout our hard work, our firstborn deserved something of their own.

A few months after Lisa moved in, she called me one evening to prepare dinner.

“Mom,” she said, “Ric is moving with me. We were together for a while and I think it’s time. ”

I was happy for her. David, on the other hand, thought it was too early, but I believed Lisa’s judgment. She could always say when something was gone. So we helped RIC move in. Although I was surprised by the amount of things he had brought with me, I assumed that he meant this relationship seriously.

Then came the infamous family dinner.

Lisa organized a meeting with the castor and ours and wanted us to get to know each other before being immersed in the planning of the wedding. I was fine with that because I didn’t know Ric’s family so well yet.

David, who was a designated cook, was out of cooking and I was relaxing on one of the outdoor sofas when David and our younger daughter Leah came to. They were visibly shaken as if they had seen the spirit.

“Ellen,” David said, “we have to leave. Now.”

I didn’t ask questions. David was not one to exaggerate, so if anything happened, it must have been serious. We quickly told Lise that Leah wasn’t feeling well and left.

Once in the car, David and Leah told me what came down. They heard Lisa and Ric’s parents who discussed how they did not plan to invite us to the wedding but hoped that this dinner would convince us to pay for the whole event.

I was silent, absolutely floor. If I were driving, I would probably crash a car.

David did not want to discuss it further, probably because I persuaded him to let Ric move in with Lisa. Was it all my fault?

The next morning I skipped the lectures and went straight to Lisy’s house, I decided to get some answers. When I arrived, I saw Ric’s parents’ car in the driveway, but no one answered the door. I saw them lying in the living room and behaving as if they owned this place. It was clear that Lisa gave them full access.

I knocked until I knew I was annoying. Finally, Ric’s mother opened the door and claimed that we would not be invited to the wedding because we reportedly influenced the press too much. She accused us of controlling her life as if we were pulling strings.

Then she went even further.

“Your family is too different to us,” said Ric’s mother. “Lisa is now one of us. Let’s take it over, but we’ll send you your part of your wedding account. ”

Before she closed the door, she mentioned that Lisa invited them to live with her, and now the house was there.

I left and felt sick after negotiations with the castor’s mother. As soon as I returned home, I called the press and reminded her that the house while he was hers was still under my name. I gave her 10 days to find out what to do, which I considered sufficiently generous.

But here is a twist – David and I sold the house. The home that Ric’s family thought was theirs was suddenly gone, as well.

I made sure I would teach them a border lesson.

As for the press, this awakening seemed to help her. She still got engaged to RIC, but now she lives in a small apartment near the hospital where she works. I’m not sure where the RIC family ended, but I know we used money from the sale of the house to buy Leah and cars.

Finally, what was supposed to be a joyful opportunity for our family, turned into a lesson and respect. Although I always wanted the best for Lisa and supported her relationship with RIC, it was clear that Ric’s family had their own agenda. By selling the house, I not only regenerated the autonomy of our family but also gave Lise space to think about what really matters.

Now, with a little perspective, Lisa lives according to her own conditions and is still planning his future with RIC. Although wedding plans are still in the air, I believe that this experience has shown us all the importance of determining borders and position for themselves, no matter how close family ties may seem. As for Ric’s family, I can only hope to learn a lesson with respect and humility, just like me.
