Former member of boy band Menudo Adrinn Olivares has died. He was forty-eight.
On Monday evening, Menud’s family and other musicians confirmed his passing.
A GoFundMe page set up by Adrian’s family and friends says he died unexpectedly on Monday. He was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease last week.
The condition was worsened by the fact that he had ulcerative colitis.
“If you would please consider donating anything you can, it would be greatly appreciated as the family does not have the means to say goodbye to Adrian once and for all to help these girls with all their necessary expenses,” the message read.
“His mother Natasha will get all the money…
Adrian, you are loved!
About 20 years after the founding of the group, Adrián became the 23rd member of the Latin band Menundo in 1990.
The singer left the band in 1993, aged 16, after just three years.
However, during his time in the group, albums such as 15 Años, Detras Tu Mirada, Dancin’, Movin’, and Shakin’ were released, making it a remarkable period.
Adrián recently founded Wynwood Podcasting, a multimedia studio in Miami, Florida. He previously owned and operated Antenna Sound Inc.
He also appeared in the miniseries Max Forever Young.
Adrian has three daughters: twins Liu and Lilly, who are eight years old, and Eliana, who is eighteen.
Several of Adrián’s former bandmates, including Menudo’s Roberto Avellaneto, commented on Adrián’s death on Instagram.
“I’m still in shock!” This is what Robert wrote in the photo of Adrian as a child.
He has to provide for his family. I pray that your soul has an easy transfer. He was cheerful and I will always remember that. Brother, I’ll meet you up there. Adrian, rest in peace.
Sergio Blass, a former bandmate, also wrote a similar post on the social network.
“Fly high little brother and find strength for your family.” The musician commented, “Your charm was unparalleled and you always looked older than your years.”
“You will always be one of the good ones and you will always live in our hearts.”
Eliana, Adrián’s daughter, dedicated a heartfelt post to him on Instagram.
“I don’t have the right words to describe how I feel. Dad, I will always love you. She said, ‘You taught me love, strength, leadership and so many other things I wouldn’t have known without you.’
“The fact that you’re not here still amazes me. I wish I could hug you or tell you how much we love you because I miss you so much.”
I couldn’t ask for a better father than you. I am very thankful that you are my guardian angel because I know that God is watching over you. “I will always love you, Dad.”
The singer’s ex-girlfriend Sylvia Campos also gave her a sincere note on Facebook.
Adriancito, you have my undying affection. You were an amazing man, singer, brother, son, friend, and most importantly, a fantastic father. I hope you have a great future ahead of you. She wrote: “I will always love you.”
MENUDO DEAD MEMBERS
Ray Reyes, a former Menudo resident, died in 2021 of a heart attack before Adrian’s death.
The Puerto Rican musician was 51 years old.
On Facebook, Ray’s brother announced his passing and asked everyone to respect his family’s privacy.
“It is with great pain in my soul that I confirm the passing of my beloved brother Ray Reyes,” he said.
“Please be patient with us as we decide what to do. Please also pray for our family, especially my mother who is really fragile. Please also remember what he left behind.”
Another former teammate, Anthony Galindo, died in 2021. 41 years have passed since then.
He has already attempted suicide, possibly as a result of his depression over the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the music industry.
Additionally, Anthony’s family released a statement regarding his death.
