Olympic Gymnast Celebrates the Arrival of Her Baby Daughter: Introducing Charlotte Jane Harmer

A 26-year-old Olympic gymnast, who recently experienced the joy of becoming a mother for the time happily shared the news of her daughter’s arrival on September 21st. The little one weighed 6 pounds and 12 ounces. They were measured 20 inches, in length. Taking to Instagram the couple posted heartwarming pictures of themselves with their newborn at the hospital.

One photo captured the tender moments between the parents as they held their baby girl while another showed their daughter holding her father’s hands. In their caption, they introduced their daughter as Charlotte Jane Harmer. Expressed deep gratitude for all the well wishes they had received.

Olympic gymnast Simone Biles also congratulated the mom in the comments section. Skinner and her husband tied the knot 2019 a month after getting engaged and two years into their relationship. In August Skinner embraced a pregnancy photoshoot with PEOPLE magazine using it as an opportunity to celebrate her journey, into motherhood and acknowledge all the work and sacrifices she had made along the way.

Skinner in an interview, with PEOPLE expressed her excitement about the arrival of the girl into their family. She acknowledged the challenges she faced during her pregnancy, which gave her respect for mothers and expectant parents. Skinner even likened the demands of pregnancy to those experienced by Olympians highlighting the obstacles she had to overcome.

Being a gymnast made motherhood impractical before Skinner and her husband Jonas decided to embark on the journey after retiring following the Tokyo Olympics. They joyfully shared their pregnancy announcement on Instagram in March. Skinner also spoke passionately about her desire to one day share her Tokyo Games experience with her children regardless of the outcome. She hoped to be that “mom who could recount her journey, to her kids.
