Over the course of his life, the “Prince of Darkness” Ozzy Osbourne has dealt with a number of health problems, but the most recent ones have been particularly difficult.
Everything went wrong for the Black Sabbath singer after his quad bike tragedy in 2003. In 2019, he suffered another potentially catastrophic fall while using the toilet and loosened metal screws in his spine.
His wife Sharon Osbourne recently revealed details of her husband’s condition, saying the rock star was scheduled for another operation that would likely “determine the rest of his life.”
Now 74, Ozzy has given an update on his health, discussing his recent surgery to repair a broken neck and calling the past five years “absolute hell.”
“I finally had my last procedure two days ago,” he replied.
“It’s unbelievable that this is over. I’ve progressed, so that’s the main thing.”
“But it’s been five years of absolute hell for me and my family,” he continued. My family gave me a lot of support. I wouldn’t have succeeded without them. This scene was terrible. Parkinson’s affects me, but I rarely think too much about it.”
According to Ozzy’s son Jack, many people mistakenly believe that his father’s Parkinson’s is the cause of his declining health.
In fact, his problems began in 2019 with a fall he experienced and a subsequent neck injury.
“I kept working until I fell, and then it all went haywire,” Ozzy recalled.
“I’m moving on; I’m not complaining. You don’t die if you’re still alive.”
The Hellraiser singer spoke about his fourth and final neck surgery on The Osbournes podcast.
“Since I can no longer perform operations, this will be my last. Regardless of the outcome, I won’t be doing it after tomorrow. I can’t.”
Earlier this year, Ozzy announced to his followers that he was retiring and that his concerts would be canceled.
Since his last tour in 2018, there have only been two live performances by the Black Sabbath singer.
We hope for the well-being of Ozzy Osbourne.
Ozzy Osbourne, known as the “Prince of Darkness”, faced an extraordinary series of health problems throughout his life, with the last few years proving particularly difficult.
After a serious quad bike accident in 2003 that marked the beginning of a series of health problems, Osbourne’s struggles intensified after a critical fall in 2019. The fall loosened metal screws in his spine and significantly affected his condition, culminating in a series of difficult surgeries. His wife Sharon Osbourne has previously noted that the upcoming surgery will be crucial in determining his future.
Now 74, Ozzy shared an update on his recent surgery to repair a broken neck, describing the past five years as “absolute hell.” Despite the pain and adversity, he expressed relief that the procedure was finally over and emphasized the crucial role of his family’s support during this grueling period. Ozzy acknowledged the impact of Parkinson’s disease but emphasized that his most pressing health issues arose from complications of his 2019 fall rather than Parkinson’s itself.
Reflecting on his journey, Ozzy revealed that his recent neck surgery will be his last, marking the end of his surgeries. He announced his retirement from touring earlier this year and has only played two live shows since 2018.
This decision underscores the seriousness of his health problems and the need to prioritize his health. We wish him continued recovery and health from the bottom of our hearts as he navigates this difficult time and realizes the toll these experiences have taken on both him and his family.
