The heartwarming story of Jad and his son Sader serves as a beacon of hope and inspiration. It challenges societal stereotypes and reminds us of the power of love and determination in shaping the lives of individuals with disabilities. Their extraordinary journey exemplifies the immense potential that lies within each person, regardless of their circumstances.
The idea that people with Down syndrome cannot have children is a common misunderstanding about them. Women with Down syndrome can give birth successfully and, in very rare cases, men can become fathers. A father with Down syndrome named Jad Issa raised his son to become a doctor in addition to having a child with his wife.
Bright Side would like to share with its readers the inspiring story of this Syrian family, which shows the importance of selfless love.
A father who showered his child with all possible love
Sader, Jad’s son, was welcomed into the family and treated like any other child that would typically be in the home when he was born. When Sader was little, his father would spend time with him playing games like thumb wrestling and other activities, and he remembers feeling really loved. The family received help from those around them and acceptance for who they are.
He put in a lot of effort to help his child fulfill his desires.
Jad, who worked in a wheat mill, started saving money for his son’s college expenses because he had high hopes for him. He did everything in his power to provide for his family, and according to Sader, his father’s determination to secure the best possible future for him made him work extremely hard in school and pursue a career in medicine. He captioned a photo of himself and his dad: “I think I would be a lot less excited about life and a lot less passionate about what I do if I didn’t have my special dad.”
He is quite proud of his son, a doctor.
Jad is extremely happy that Sader is now a dentist, one of the best and highest-paying jobs in Syria. When his child was still in school, Jad cheerfully introduced his son to new people by saying, “My son is a doctor.”
The family is a real example of how prejudices can be overturned.
Sader informed us that his parents’ love for each other is still as strong now as it was when they first got married, despite being married for many years. They perfectly understand each other’s requirements. They love hiking together but can spend hours just chatting.
Sader acknowledges that his father is responsible for his success and that he shares his father’s pride in him. The dynamic couple likes to spend their free time watching movies together.
