You will need Kleenex while reading this story; I cried real tears for this little baby and I know you will too. I hope you have some on hand.
Before he left this earth, this wonderful little boy named Leland Shoemaker wanted to leave his parents this beautiful, heartfelt message.
On September 25, this young boy, who was only six years old, died of his disease while treating the brain-eating amoeba Balamuthia mandrillaris.’
The note was special and something they will cherish and cherish for the rest of their lives when their parents come home without their son.
Tim discovered the note in their living room, where he enjoyed drawing and creating art, while his mother was in his room organizing and preparing the funeral.
Chas sobbed as soon as he looked at the note and immediately rushed to his wife to show her what he had discovered.
The message was short and sweet:
Still here for you. Thank you, parents. I adore my parents.”
From Amber
To say I lost it would be an understatement. We both sobbed together for the longest time.
They often received notes and drawings from their young son, but this one stood out so much that they decided to frame it and hang it in the living room.
According to Mom’s Facebook history, Leland was a bright and inquisitive young boy! According to Amber, he knew his ABCs, numbers, colors, shapes, and 20 words by the time he was a year old. We adored the fact that he was our little nerd. He loved learning and going to school. He adored documentaries, the History Channel, the Weather Channel, and historical subjects in general. He was eager to learn new things.
Leland was not just a bright young man; he was also quite talkative and enjoyed chatting with his parents and other people. Everyone who came into contact with him immediately recognized his charming, sweet nature, and his parents even made new friends thanks to him.
He was a truly adorable young man who was tragically taken from us before he could fully develop.
Words really can’t express how much it means to any parent to see something like this under these circumstances, but this note he left behind was just amazing and something everyone should see.
As for Leland, Amber said:
