Joy Behar received a blunt suggestion from a guest on “The View” to explore alternative career options, and her response was far from enthusiastic. During the ABC talk show on Friday, Joy Behar engaged in another heated exchange, this time with Rick Klein, ABC News Political Director, who appeared as a guest to discuss the November midterm elections.
Co-host Ana Navarro prompted Klein to share his thoughts on the midterms and the impact of the Roe v. Wade overturned, but Behar interrupted him, questioning whether reporters follow up on voters’ concerns about gas prices and the Republicans’ ability to address the issue.
Klein tried to explain that reporters avoid arguing with voters, but Behar interrupted again, emphasizing the importance of a follow-up question. Klein then retorted, half-jokingly, by asking if she wanted the job and suggested she could take his place.
Behar didn’t take the remark lightly and insisted it wasn’t an argument, but merely a follow-up question. The tension increased until conservative co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin attempted to lighten the atmosphere, inviting Behar to join the show as a cameo.
In an interview celebrating her 80th birthday, Behar made it clear that she has no plans to retire and expressed her enthusiasm for continuing on “The View,” where she has been a panelist since its debut in 1997. She acknowledged the show’s significance and its high viewership in the daytime.
While Behar enjoys her position on the show, she recognizes the power that comes with her platform and how it sometimes puts her at odds with conservative outlets like Breitbart and Fox. Despite potential criticism, she embraces her influential role.
However, if Behar continues to snap at guests as she did with Klein, her longevity on “The View” might be at risk, and conservatives who disagree with her liberal views may not be pleased to hear that she has no intentions of stepping down.
She does need to step down. She has become a mean journalist
