Principal Dan Marburger was one of seven people injured in the school shooting, initial reports said. According to the latest reports, Marburger’s injuries unfortunately claimed his life.
In an attempt to “distract” the gunman so the students could flee, Marburger threw himself into the line of fire, according to a Facebook post by his daughter Claire, as reported by Today. Marbuger was shot multiple times.

Low Governor Kim Reynolds announced on Jan. 14 that the principal had died.
“The news of Dan Marburger’s passing has devastated our entire state. Kevin and I pray for the comfort of his wife and family during this extremely difficult time and send them our deepest condolences.”

UPDATE: According to new information, 17-year-old student Dylan Butler opened fire at Perry High School on January 4th.
One person died and five others, including the director, were injured in the incident. It was gathered that the deceased was a student of class six.

Butler then pointed the gun at himself.
The gunman uploaded several ominous TikTok videos before carrying “a pump-action shotgun, a small-bore pistol, and an improvised explosive device with the intent to kill his classmates,” according to police reports obtained by KOMO News.
According to KOMO, one of the TikTok videos posted on the since-deleted account featured a user placing a backpack in a school restroom, captioning it: “Now we’re waiting, Stray Bullet playing in the background.”
