Police have provided an update after gunfire struck Rihanna’s home in Beverly Hills on Sunday, March 8.
According to the BBC, officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of shots fired at around 13:15 local time. A suspect, described as a woman in her 30s, was later located and taken into custody.
Authorities told CBS News that shell casings from an assault rifle were recovered at the scene. The singer was reportedly inside the home at the time the shooting occurred.
Investigators said the suspect pulled up in a vehicle outside the property and fired between seven and nine rounds before speeding away. Four of those shots reportedly struck the house.
The LA Times also reported that LAPD radio dispatch from the incident indicated the vehicle used in the shooting—a white Tesla—fled south along Coldwater Canyon Drive.
Police in a helicopter soon spotted the vehicle and tracked it to a shopping center parking lot in Sherman Oaks, where officers arrested the suspect roughly 30 minutes after the initial 911 call.

Armen Arias, a spokesperson for the LAPD, said officers searched the suspect’s vehicle after pulling her over and taking her into custody.
“When they stopped the suspect and detained her, they conducted a search of the car and recovered an assault rifle along with seven shell casings,” Arias said.
He also noted that investigators discovered bullet holes in a gate and in an RV parked in Rihanna’s driveway.
Police Sgt. Jonathan de Vera, also with the Los Angeles Police Department, confirmed that no one was injured during the incident.
NBC News reported that LAPD Capt. Mike Bland said in a statement that additional details about the suspect, including possible booking charges, are expected to be released on Monday, March 9.
