A shocking twist appeared in the ongoing Royal Rift because Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s latest issue has caused intensive speculation and debate.
While the holiday cards are usually a simple tradition, this year’s decision has made the royal observer buzzing. Could this unconventional step be another fine statement in their continuing dispute with the royal family?
Or is it just a reflection of their modern, independent brand? In any case, the sharp contrast between their ceremonial greeting and the more traditional style of Prince William and Princess Kate again placed two pairs in the center of attention.
Several royal professors compared Harry and Meghan’s controversial ceremony for cards previously distributed by Wales this week.
On Wednesday, Harry and Meghan continued their tradition of broadcasting the “official” Christmas card, which was sent to all followers and subscribers to their joint charity organization The Artewell Foundation.
SusS*xes, however, decided to do things a little differently by sending his 2024 card in the form of a collage that consisted of their year together.
This week, several royal experts compared the unconventional Christmas card of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle with traditional holidays that are usually shared by Prince William and Princess Kate.
On Wednesday, Harry and Meghan continued their annual tradition by sending an “official” Christmas card to their charity organization, the Artewell Foundation.
Instead of a standard format of one image used by the royal family, however, SusS*xes decided to collage images showing moments from their year. Several pictures emphasized their humanitarian efforts abroad, including their August trip to Colombia, while others represented their children from behind when they ran to their parents.
The card contained a message that reads: “On behalf of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of SusS*x, we wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful new year.”
On the other hand, Prince William and Princess Kate usually publish a royal Christmas portrait of December 25, representing a single picture of their family, often including their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
The unique SusS*xes approach has triggered a significant online discussion.
Grant Harrold, former Royal Butler to King Charles III, commented on the format of the card while talking to the talk show host Slinga. He noted: “The traditional royal Christmas card, as well as those of the king or princess of Wales, usually contains a single photo. Since I worked with a royal family, the format has always been quite simple. Harry and Meghan’s card is different – it’s more of a haircut. ”
Harrold further stated: “This is not the right thing. It’s not too royal. ”
In the middle of the ongoing tension between two pairs after the decision of Harry and Meghan, withdraw from the royal duties in 2020 now William and Kate have now answered – though not directly.
The Prince of Wales, instead of dealing with a controversy surrounding the SusS*xes holiday card, decided to break their silence by sharing unrelated images on Twitter (X). They also published the same video on their official Instagram accounts.
The ongoing comparison between the unconventional Christmas card Harry and Meghan and the traditional approach of Prince William and Princess Kate emphasizes the ongoing gap between two royal couples. While SusS*xes decided on the modern design in the style of collage reflecting their year, Prince and Princess of Wales maintained a long-term royal tradition of a single portrait.
Despite the buzzing surrounding the format of the card, William and Kate decided not to deal directly into the debate, instead they focused on their own obligations. This contrast in style and approach is again underlined by the various ways that two pairs have taken since Harry and Meghan resigned from royal duties.
