A memorial service for Olympic star Tori Bowie was held Saturday at True Vine Baptist Church in Brandon, Mississippi.

Family members of the Olympic star, who died at the age of 32 earlier this month, attended her funeral in Brandon, Mississippi on Saturday, according to The New York Times.
According to the publication, Reverend Sylvester London, who officiated the ceremony and delivered the eulogy, said he was “shocked” to learn of Bowie’s passing and that he “started to pray.”
According to The Clarion-Ledger, the funeral was held less than 12 miles from Pisgah High School, where Bowie began his athletic career.
After the service, Bowie’s funeral procession took her to Sandhill, where she will be laid to rest. The Times noted that the grave is near a 2018 sign that reads, “Welcome to the Sandhill community, home of Olympic gold medalist Tori Bowie.”
Last Monday, Bowie’s management team released a statement on social media announcing her death.
Icon Management tweeted: “We are devastated to share the very sad news that Tori Bowie has passed away.”
“We have lost a customer, a great friend, a daughter, and a sister. Tori was a champion and a shining example of good in the world! We are praying with family and friends. We are truly heartbroken,” the message read.
After being called to check on Bowie, authorities discovered her dead in her home, said the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, which later confirmed the incident to PEOPLE. They said there was no evidence of wrongdoing.
According to the police department, officers went to her home on Bowman Drive to “conduct a welfare check on a woman in her 30s who had not been seen or heard from in several days.” Bowie was apparently “found deceased” on the property and was found and recognized by deputies when they entered the building, according to the department’s statement.
According to the agency, there were “no signs of foul play,” but any further details regarding the manner of Bowie’s death “must come from” the medical examiner’s office.
At the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Bowie, whose full legal name was Gold medalist “Tori” Bowie, assisted the United States in winning gold in the 100-meter relay. She also took home silver in the 100-meter sprint and bronze in the 200-meter sprint at the 2016 Olympics.
The following year at the IAAF World Championships, Bowie won gold for the United States in the 100 meters and the 100 meters relay.
