Along with celebrating eight decades of marriage, they also celebrated birthdays that are only a week apart. According to WSOC TV, a big celebration was held at First Mayfield Memorial Baptist in Charlotte, North Carolina to honor the triple milestone event. To see them at this age and still doing well, as their granddaughter Williams-Greene told the news source, “It’s just a blessing to have them here.” She went on to call the other their “best friend”.
The couple recalled that when they first met, a cab ride cost just 10 cents. They have been married for over 80 years, and although much has changed, their love for each other is still as strong as ever.
