Jane Fonda, the celebrated actress and activist, who has garnered accolades and admiration throughout her 85 years, recently opened up about her perspective on mortality. In a candid interview with a British publication, Fonda revealed that she has begun contemplating her farewell celebration, confidently expressing her readiness to embrace the inevitable.
With a career spanning over five decades, Fonda has become an iconic figure in Hollywood, renowned not only for her acting prowess but also for her unwavering dedication to activism, particularly in areas like climate change and political reform. Despite her immense success and the indelible mark she has left on the industry, Fonda remains remarkably at peace with the concept of death.
“I’m 85 and I recognize how fortunate I am to be here. So, I don’t fear death,” she shared. “I’m not yearning for it, but when it arrives, I will be prepared.”
While Fonda’s candid admission may come as a surprise to some, it aligns with her long-standing perspective on mortality and the profound significance she places on living a purposeful life. Throughout the years, she has consistently advocated for embracing the aging process gracefully, acknowledging the physical and psychological transformations that accompany it, while finding meaning and fulfillment in the later stages of life.
“I believe it’s crucial to acknowledge our impermanence and seize every moment we have,” Fonda emphasized.
With an unyielding passion for justice and environmental conservation, Jane Fonda stands as a steadfast leader in the fight against social inequality and ecological degradation. Her career has been marked by active participation in numerous demonstrations, lending her voice and influence to causes she holds dear. Recently, she launched “Fire Drill Fridays,” a virtual platform aimed at raising awareness about the urgent need for action on climate change.
As an actress and activist, Fonda has left an indelible impression on countless individuals. Her willingness to confront the concept of mortality with bravery and honesty only serves to amplify her impact on society. In her own words, she declares, “I’m still here, and I will persist in the fight until my time has passed.”
I am not surprised of her decision. She has changed her life and believes drastically over her 85 years.
I have planned my departure a long time ago. It is in my last chapter in my novel. It is very beautiful detailed, and readers do not realize what is happening. it is a total surprise to them. I am using a pseudo name, to protect my family and children.
the title of the book is “the unreachable mountain. ”
It is a perfect way to end your life.
What a fluff piece on her. You totally forgot to mention her treasonous visits to the enemy in Vietnam and involved with turning over names of POWS who passed her messages to give to their families bach home then later were severely punished.
I just about lost my lunch reading this drivel about the traitorous Hanoi Jane. She caused some good soldiers to loose their lives because of her. Now Chaudry Badar may have a Love Jones for her with all the garbage written but the US soldiers in Vietnam remember her for the traitor she is.
SHE IS NOT MISSED BY MOST VIETNAM VETERANS1
She won’t be missed. Hanoi Jane. Traitor.
You left out the Hanoi Jane part of Jane Fonda’s history.
I think everything she says is laudable. Not to poo poo her submissions, but points of
her attitude are helped along by having money. Those without, not so much!!
