Priscilla Presley, the ex-wife of legendary musician Elvis Presley, has expressed her wish to be buried next to her late ex-husband and their daughter Lisa Marie Presley after her death.
When the time comes, Priscilla Presley has said through a representative that she wishes to be buried next to her daughter Lisa Marie Presley and the “love of my life.”
Priscilla Presley wants to spend her last moments with her loved ones.
When she died, Priscilla, 77, asked to be buried alongside her late ex-husband Elvis Presley and daughter Lisa Marie Presley, her agent confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE.
While I have no immediate plans to go, my family and I want to be buried next to my daughter and the love of my life when the time comes, adds Priscilla. “We appreciate the support from every fan,”
In the settlement she reached with her granddaughter Riley Keough on Tuesday, her request was reportedly not granted, according to TMZ.
After his death in 1977, Elvis was buried at his beloved Graceland home, where his tomb is located next to that of his parents Vernon and Gladys. Lisa Marie Presley, his only child, is buried with her son Benjamin Keough, who died in 2020, at Graceland.
After dating for eight years, Priscilla and Elvis were married in 1967. Priscilla later married and divorced Marco Garibaldi, but repeatedly referred to Elvis as the love of her life.
The actress recently negotiated a settlement with Keough, 33, over Lisa Marie’s trust in a Los Angeles courtroom.
In a petition she filed in January, Priscilla challenged the “authenticity and validity” of a 2016 trust update that removed her as a cotrustee and put Keough in control, but the actress told PEOPLE after the settlement that everything was resolved.
In a statement provided exclusively to PEOPLE, Priscilla said, “My family has resolved any doubts regarding our legal action and request for interpretation of documents following the untimely loss of my daughter Lisa Marie.
Although some media have confused such a request for a lawsuit, I want to be clear that no lawsuit was ever filed against my dear granddaughter.
“As a family, we’re glad we were able to work this out together,” she concluded. I hope everyone will give my family and me the space we need to properly mourn Lisa Marie and spend quality time together. The Presley family is stronger than ever and we love and appreciate each and every one of you.
Her attorney, Ronson Shamoun, told the media that the Presleys are “united and together and excited about the future” and that “the families are happy.”
Keough’s attorney, Justin Gold, continued, “[Riley] wouldn’t have agreed to the settlement if she wasn’t happy with it.”
The Promenade Trust and the insurance trust are also the subjects of a settlement request that Keough’s side will file under seal.
Representatives for Keough did not comment after the settlement. However, a source told PEOPLE that the Daisy Jones & the Six actress is ready to move on.
Riley feels glad that the disagreements over her mother’s estate have been resolved. A source said Keough, who was seen picking up coffee in Vancouver on Wednesday, didn’t want any conflict with her grandmother.
She wished they could resolve the matter quickly.
According to a source, Riley is still grieving her mother Lisa Marie, who was also mother to 14-year-old twins Finley and Harper (with ex-husband Michael Lockwood), who died unexpectedly in January at the age of 54. She’s had a really tough time. Now she wants to focus on making memories with her own children. Her main priority is this.
The journey of the Presley family was filled with ups and downs, love and loss, and a profound impact on the world of music and entertainment. Priscilla’s desire to be buried alongside her late ex-husband and daughter reflects a deep emotional connection and bond that remains unbroken in the face of life’s challenges. As Elvis Presley’s legacy continues to captivate generations, the unity and resilience of the Presley family serve as a reminder of the enduring power of love and family bonds.
