Gaines, choosing to rise above personal attacks, instructed her legal team to expedite the timeline for her impending lawsuit against Thomas. Seeking $2 million in damages, Gaines claims personal distress, enduring pain, and potential financial setbacks resulting from fraudulent actions.
Thomas took to TikTok to post a video of herself exposing her posterior to Gaines, attempting to make light of the situation and implying that her hormone treatments failed to mitigate hair growth in certain areas. Thomas remarked, ‘It adds an extra level of humor.’
Gaines enlisted the services of Thomas Bagger as her personal attorney and aims to summon every swimmer present during the incident. She asserted, ‘Thomas not only took away the victory but also stole a cherished moment that I had dedicated my entire life to achieving.’
Responding through her spokesperson, Joe Barron, Thomas expressed regret to reporters, though she clarified that her remorse didn’t extend to the tiebreaker outcome. Thomas stated, ‘I earned that. I’m referring to Gaines’ significant moment, which amounted to a fifth-place finish in a single event at a National Championship. Frankly, I wasn’t even aware of her name until yesterday.’
Thomas intends to dismiss the entire matter with a lighthearted approach while her attorney handles the case’s dismissal.
