Riley Keough Assumes Exclusive Trusteeship of Lisa Marie Presley’s Estate After Legal Conflict with Priscilla Presley

In a recent development that has hit legal circles and celebrity news alike, Riley Keough, best known as the granddaughter of the legendary Elvis Presley, has taken a prominent role in the administration of her late mother Lisa Marie Presley’s estate….

Riley Keough has been named sole executor of her late mother Lisa Marie Presley’s estate, according to court filings.

After a legal battle with her grandmother, Priscilla Presley, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge accepted a settlement proposed by Keough, Elvis Presley’s eldest grandson, in June.

As a result of the ruling, Keough, 34, will preside over subgroups of her 14-year-old half-sisters Finley and Harper Lockwood, Lisa Marie’s children from her marriage to musician Michael Lockwood. “The settlement is in the best interests of minors Harper Lockwood and Finley Lockwood and confirms that Michael Lockwood’s signature on their behalf as Guardian Ad Litem is valid and binding,” Judge Lynn H. Scaduto ruled.

Keough filed a 73-page request with the court on June 12 to ratify an earlier settlement agreement signed by her, Lockwood, and Priscilla.

Referring to the sub-trusts for Harper and Finley, Gold said the funds entrusted to Keough through the trust will be protected and used in a manner compatible with the needs of the beneficiaries and not be influenced by the wishes of the trustee.

According to sources, the trust will allow Priscilla to continue working as a special adviser and collect a monthly stipend for her role in the trust.

Priscilla will also be able to retrieve any personal belongings she stored at any Graceland facility and has been granted permission to be buried in the Meditation Garden plot alongside Elvis, Lisa Marie, and her late grandson Benjamin Storm Presley Keough, who died by suicide in 2020 at the age of 27.

Following Lisa Marie’s untimely death in January at age 54, Priscilla filed a petition the following month challenging the “authenticity and validity” of a 2016 amendment to her daughter’s living trust that removed her and former company executive Barry Siegel as co-trustees.

the settlement grants Priscilla the privilege of accessing her personal belongings stored in facilities controlled by the Graceland estate. It’s a recognition of her deep connection to the Presley legacy and her enduring role in his history. The court also granted her the right to be buried in the sacred grounds of the Meditation Garden, joining the esteemed company of Elvis, Lisa Marie, and her late grandson Benjamin Storm Presley Keough, who tragically took his own life at the age of. 27 in 2020.

Ultimately, this legal journey underscores the complexities and sensitivities of managing estates, especially those as iconic as the Presley family. Riley Keough’s persistence and dedication resulted in a settlement that honors her mother’s memory while securing the future of her siblings. As the chapters of this saga close, Lisa Marie Presley’s legacy continues to evolve, carried on by those who cherish her memory.
