Have you ever had someone who just couldn’t leave you alone, no matter how hard you tried to stay off your way?
My mom, a kind soul, had one such person-Karen, a woman who seemed to go out of the way to make my mom’s life unhappy. At first I thought that Karen was just a rough customer with poor access.
But when I learned the shocking truth for her cruelty, I knew it was time for some justice … and I had a perfect plan to add it. This was followed by a number of events that would change the tables in a way that Karen had never seen.
My mom, one of the most loving people you have ever met, had to leave her work to treat cancer. Now that she is in remission, she works like a waitress to meet the goals.
Then there was Karen, a rough and disrespectful customer who made my mom’s life every day. One day she dropped a napkin and demanded that my mom pick it up and say, “Try to be so slow.” Other times she criticized the flowers in the restaurant and suggested that my mom be fresh from her garden.
My mom never complained, she always showed kindness, but one day Karen crossed the border. She threw coffee on my mom and claimed it was too cold. My mom returned home in tears, her uniform destroyed.
When I asked her what happened, my mom reluctantly admitted that Karen was actually a former classmate who was still holding resentment, because my dad chose my mom over his back during the day. That was the last straw. I decided that Karen had to face the consequences of her actions.
I did some digging on Karen’s social media and found that she was obsessed with her image and boasts her luxury lifestyle and flawless appearance. I decided to teach her a lesson.
I created a fake Instagram account and pretended to be a top influence on the beauty named Lila Sanders. With several paid followers and some of the purchases purchased, the account looked authentic.
I began to communicate with Karen’s posts, flatter it and build her trust during the week. Then I sent her an exclusive report, inviting only for beauty in the city and offered her another VIP ticket.
“Let me know if you want to join!” I said.
“Oh my God, that sounds amazing! I’d like to go!” Karen replied, her excitement obvious.
“The event is at the Grand Hotel,” I told her. “Clothing is very strict, so make sure you look your best.”
“Absolutely! I can’t wait! Thanks a lot for the invitation!” She responded eagerly.
Karen appeared in the hotel and looked charming and confident. I watched from a distance as she was approaching the reception, her self -confident air was slowly turning to confusion.
I used to be phoning, pretending to be Karen, and canceling her spa reserve and claiming to be too ill to participate. When Karen asked about her reservation, the hotel manager informed her that someone had canceled her and would have to pay for cancellation fees.
Her face reddish when she tried to explain. “That’s absurd! I require a refund!”
“I’m afraid it’s not possible,” the manager said. “The reservation has been canceled and is now too late to make books again.”
Karen, upset and humiliated, had no choice but to pay.
But I wasn’t done yet. I arranged to send a shipment of cheap, sticky, shimmering “cosmetic products” to Karen’s house, masked in what looked like a top package.
I watched from a distance Karen returned home, excited that she opened the packages. As she did, glitter and sticky goo exploded everywhere, destroyed her expensive clothes, and made a mess that could never completely clean.
Her social media, which quickly turned on it, desperately tried to save her image. Her once perfect posts now showed a woman desperately trying to keep the look. She even had to stop going to the cafe where she often humiliated my mom.
I decided that it was time to confront Karen directly.
One day I walked into the café when she was there and approached her table. “Karen,” I said calmly. “I know exactly who you are and what you were doing. You think my mom’s humiliating makes you superior, but it only reveals your uncertainty and bitterness. My mom fought every day and still work hard while you still hold a high school cottage.
Karen couldn’t even answer. She packed up quickly and left, her head bowed with shame. I haven’t seen her in the cafe ever since.
When my mom found out what I did, she wasn’t completely excited about fraud. “Audrey,” she said, “I appreciate you built for me, but was it really necessary?”
“Mom,” I replied and pressed her hand, “you always sacrificed me so much to make sure I was happy. This is nothing compared to everything you did for me.”
She sighed and smiled. “Justice, as shimmering as shimmering, adhesive, huh?”
“Exactly,” I grinned. “Karen needed the taste of her own medicine.”
In the end, Karen learned hard that her actions had consequences. While my mom might not have approved the length I went to, she understood that sometimes a position for what was right requires little creativity.
My mom fought so much and I didn’t want to let anyone continue to treat her with her disrespect. It was a moment of growth – not only for Karen, but also for me. I did what I need to do, not despite, but because sometimes people need awakening to realize that their cruel behavior has real effects on others. As for Karen? Well, he’ll think twice before she plays with someone – especially my mom.
