A Massachusetts woman is being praised for her actions after scoring $200 on a scratch-off lottery ticket.
Sofia Andrade stopped at a sign in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and played a ticket, discovering she won $200. When she checked, she noticed Glenn Williams standing just ahead.
Williams had been destitute for a very long time and was out begging on that cool evening. When she figured out she had a triumphant ticket, Andrade understood what she needed to do.
“I realize that the cash never truly had a place with me,” Andrade told WCVB. “This cash was intended to help him.”
Andrade brought Williams over to her vehicle and said that she needed to take him to Dunkin Doughnuts to get him an espresso.
“He was so wrecked by only the liberality of espresso that he just couldn’t quit crying,” she said.
While addressing Williams, Andrade learned he had been on the roads in light of the fact that no neighborhood destitute havens had space for him. That is the point at which she realize that she needed to do significantly something else for him. Andrade utilized her other rewards to pay for an inn space for Williams for two evenings.
“I was unable to accept there’s someone like her,” Williams said. “She merits a great deal of recognition for where I’m at this moment.”
Sofia shared her story in a Facebook post and after the post was shared many times, she started getting messages from individuals who likewise needed to help Williams. She then sent off a GoFundMe crowdfunding effort to “assist with allowing Glenn a subsequent opportunity,” reports WFXT.
A neighborhood stylist who caught wind of the story proposed to give Williams a free hairstyle and others in the space gave labor and products to take care of him.
“There’s a lot of good individuals in this world,” Williams said. “I’m overpowered with all the assistance, and I simply need to thank everyone.”
