On May 10, 2025, a tragic murder-suicide rocked a Nebraska community on the day of a high school graduation ceremony.

Authorities found the bodies of Jeremy Koch, 42, Bailey Koch, 41, and their two sons, Hudson Koch, 18, and Asher Koch, 16, inside their Johnson Lake residence. It is widely believed that Jeremy committed the heinous act of murdering his family members before ultimately taking his own life. 

The Koch family established a mental health support page called Anchoring Hope, where they openly discussed Jeremy’s ongoing struggle with suicidal thoughts.

Just one day prior to the incident, Bailey shared an uplifting message on social media, expressing her unwavering support for Jeremy’s perseverance in the face of his mental health challenges. 

The community has been deeply impacted by the tragedy, extending its support to cozad schools, which has provided assistance to students and staff members during this challenging period. 

The autopsy reports are still being processed, and the Nebraska State Patrol is conducting a comprehensive investigation.
