“I am devastated,” Lenkov, 60, wrote in the caption of a Thursday post featuring a photo of him with Wily. “Heartbroken. I’ll share more later, it’s just too difficult right now.”

The cause of Wily’s death has not been disclosed. He leaves behind his wife, Halona, daughter TulaLagalaga Tatalo, and son YoungAsia.

Wily was best known for his recurring role as Kamekona Tupuola on Hawaii Five-0, where he appeared in 171 episodes from 2010 to 2020. He also made seven appearances on Magnum P.I., in addition to roles in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, One West Waikiki, North Shore, MacGyver, and a cameo on The Amazing Race in 2012.

Before his acting career, Wily had a successful sumo wrestling career, where he remained undefeated in his first 14 bouts. At nearly 440 pounds, he was one of the largest competitors in the sport but retired in 1989 due to health concerns.
