“Teenage Girl Fatally Ejected from High-Speed BMW Driven by Another Teen in New York”

Tragic Loss of Fortune Williams, a promising teenager with medical aspirations

Fourteen-year-old Fortune Williams had ambitions to work in the medical industry, according to family members.

A 14-year-old New York girl was killed after she was ejected from a speeding car driven by an unlicensed juvenile that crashed into a parked UPS truck and caused a series of crashes, according to multiple news sources.

According to the New York Post, ABC7 NY, and PIX 11, at least three cars were involved in a fatal crash Wednesday at 6:40 p.m. in the Springfield Gardens neighborhood of Queens, according to the NYPD. Family members identified the deceased as 14-year-old Fortune Williams on the GoFundMe page.

Williams was allegedly traveling in the BMW while a 16-year-old boy with a learner’s permit drove at a “high rate of speed,” according to family and authorities, the Post reports. A UPS driver was reportedly knocked to the ground after the driver lost control and crashed into a parked delivery vehicle.

A witness told ABC7 NY that “the car was basically going maybe 90-100 mph.”

Citing a video uploaded to the Citizen app, The Post claims the car then skids across the road and crashes into the side of a semi-trailer.

According to the NYPD, The Post, the driver did not suffer any major injuries, but Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim’s mother, Keisha Francis, told ABC7 NY, “The mother doesn’t want to go through this.” “I found her bracelet; I can’t go to sleep.”

Family members subsequently set up a GoFundMe page to help with Williams’ mother’s funeral expenses.

According to the fundraiser, “Yummy Mess, or Happiness as I affectionately called her, was an absolute delight of a child.” She was polite, diligent, and extremely kind to her brothers. Whenever I visited her, she always had a secret to share with me. She had a youthful elegance and wit that could only belong to a teenager.

Williams aspired to a career in medicine, according to the fundraiser. She liked to shop and cook with her mother.

The 16-year-old driver, who is being treated at a nearby hospital and is doing well, may or may not be charged.

Fortune Williams will be remembered for the joy she brought to others, her aspirations, and the potential she held within herself. May her memory serve as a constant reminder of the importance of cherishing every precious moment and the responsibility we all have to keep ourselves and those around us safe on the roads.
