In 2015, Rudy Farias, a 17-year-old teenager from northwest Houston, Texas, left his house to walk his two dogs but never returned. Rudy was unconscious and is now recovering in hospital.
After he disappeared on March 6, 2015, officials searched for him for many days before calling off the hunt. The hunt continued the day after his dogs returned home without Rudy.
The adolescent had post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and depression at the time of the abduction. After he went missing, he stopped taking his medication and his family feared he might become confused as a result. This caused them great anxiety.
The Texas Center for the Missing reported on Sunday, July 2, 2023, that Rudy had been “placed safely”.

Rudy’s recovery is expected to take a long time due to his still fragile condition and inability to move from the fetal position. He can barely manage a few words at a time.
Rudy, now 25, was abused for the entire eight years he was away, according to his mother.
