Tragedy struck when a body discovered in the River Usk in Newport, Wales, was identified as that of a missing teenager.
The body of a young man who went missing after he went missing near a well-known nightclub has been found in a river. On Sunday, June 25, the River Usk in Newport was the scene of a police call after the alarm was received at around 6.15 am. According to WalesOnline, police have now identified the body as that of 19-year-old Tom Moreton.
Concerns have been raised for the teenager’s welfare after he was last seen near Vibez nightclub in Newport city center. James was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black shorts, and gray Nike trainers with a green pipe. The general public has been advised to be wary of him.
He was also described as having a thin frame and about 5ft 10in tall. Gwent Police gave a tragic update and said: “The body of a man was found in the River Usk in Newport at around 6.15 pm on Sunday 25th June. Tom Moreton, 19, from Cwmbran, who was reported to us as missing on Sunday 25th June has been officially identified as a man. A report will be prepared for the coroner, who says the death is not being treated as suspicious, according to police.
