She built many wonderful houses, but this one was unique.

The house is quite accessible and comfortable for Merle thanks to the wide doors with ramps.
Merle’s height was taken into account when building the kitchen units.
Merle’s age-related changes were also taken into account in the design.
Railing supports the walls in case Merle needs to grab onto something to keep her balance.
When it came to the beautiful design of the residence, Ferne thought of everything.
If they decide to move or sell, this beautiful patio may need to be torn down.
But the stunning farm offers such a charming prospect that it’s hard to guess they’d consider moving.
Merle never gets tired of the breathtaking views. Like the icing on the cake.
Ferne also made sure the walls and roof had enough insulation so her mother wouldn’t have any problems in the winter.
Additionally, screens were installed to keep insects out.

There is a motorized primary screen on the ramp.
All Merle has to do to raise or lower it is press a button.
To give Merle’s mother the impression that the interior was all her own, Ferne let Merle choose the colors and decor.
Her aging mother chose the aesthetic of wood.
This makes the house seem larger and more airy.
Ferne also built underfloor heating because she understood the value of this equipment for the elderly.
Since Merle’s floor is level and non-slip, she can safely walk wherever she wants.
One really nice touch is Merle’s bed.
During the day, he raises her bed to the ceiling with the push of a button.
The 12-volt battery that powers the motor has channels integrated directly into the wall.
The cabinets that Ferne built into the walls have drawers placed in convenient places for Merle to easily access.
Even with a walker, Merle finds her house easy to navigate. She can easily go to her bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom and has no tension to get there.
