The Unusual Name
One day, someone asked an elderly Native American man a simple question.
“What’s your wife’s name?”
The old man paused briefly before answering in a calm voice.
“Her name is Three Horse.”
The person asking looked puzzled.
“Three Horse?” he said. “That’s quite an unusual name for a wife. What does it mean?”
The old man let out a long sigh, slowly shook his head, and replied,
“It’s an old tribal name.”
Then, with a weary smile, he added,
“It means… Nag. Nag. Nag.”
