Earlier this month, Whoopi Goldberg, a prominent figure on the talk show “The View,” took to Instagram to express her disappointment over the incompatibility of her newly purchased video game, Diablo IV, with her Apple computer. Frustrated by her inability to play the game, she even contacted the game’s creator, Blizzard Entertainment, requesting a temporary solution for users with similar systems. However, it seems that no progress has been made since then, as she returned to social media a week later seeking an update from the company regarding this unprecedented situation.
In a video posted on June 16, Whoopi began by addressing her followers, saying, “Hey y’all, it’s still me. I’m getting ready to do a talk, and I realized I’m still pretty upset with Blizzard Entertainment because I still have not heard from them. I understand they want me to go get an Xbox, but I want my money back if you’re not gonna give me my game! What is happening with this?”
Expressing her frustration, she continued, “I feel I’m being nice about it, but I think a lot of people were upset that they did not get what they were promised… Can somebody just send me a ‘Hey Whoop. You know, we’re really sorry that happened to you. Because I kind of feel like maybe… this is par for the course.”
Upon seeing Whoopi’s plea for answers regarding Diablo IV, her fans swiftly came to her defense in the comments section. While some believed it wasn’t a significant issue, many stood up for Whoopi in her current predicament.
“One person asked on Instagram, “Who do I address in support of you on this? Do you have a link?” Another individual agreed, saying, “You should get what you paid for. Makes you wonder how many other people are in the same situation 🤔.” A different follower said, “Yes Whoopi! That’s super irritating. I hope you get your money back and can get to playing. Let me know if you wanna do a dungeon run! 👏.”
While Whoopi awaits a response regarding her ability to play Diablo IV on her Mac, she remains occupied with various commitments. In addition to her daily appearances on “The View,” she is also gearing up for the release of her graphic novel, “The Change,” in November, which was inspired by her love for video games. Thus, although some may perceive the gaming issue as trivial, it is understandable why Whoopi is passionate about resolving it.
