Fans of ABC’s talk show “The View” are becoming increasingly vocal about their desire to see co-host Whoopi Goldberg replaced on the popular daytime program. In the midst of that debate, many viewers rallied behind a surprise candidate to replace Goldberg — Chelsea Clinton, daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Calls for Goldberg’s removal come in the wake of several on-air controversies and perceived mistakes, including her recent suspension from the show and a comment that some found offensive.
Supporters want Goldberg traded
According to The Sun, supporters want Goldberg to be replaced by Chelsea Clinton, daughter of former President Bill Clinton and two-time failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. This comes after viewers praised Chelsea’s performance during her last guest appearance on “The View.”
“I hope they add her to the panel if she asks. One supporter said, ‘I think she’d be a great moderator,’ and another said, ‘She was just classy, smart, and knows how to lead a panel discussion.'”
He is quite brilliant. A third user said: “You can hear it when she talks,” and a fourth wrote: “I thought she was fantastic. Respectful and well-spoken. He really hadn’t even had her on his radar before, so I was pleasantly surprised…
Answers for Goldberg
Plus, it comes after Goldberg’s recent string of on-air gaffes. Fans are still mad at her for saying the Holocaust wasn’t about race earlier this year, which led to her two-week ban from the show. Then on a recent airing of “The View,” Goldberg got into more trouble when she remarked, “Sometimes you have to be an a** to be a parent.”
The fans were not happy with this; one said: “Whoopi and Sunny [Hostin’s] dirty talk was a little too much today.”
This viewer continued: “I had to turn off the show between Whoopi using the term ‘b***hin’ and Sunny referring to Republicans as ‘p**sing on her leg while it’s pouring.'” I’m aware of their zeal for gun control, but this is daytime television, not the Howard Stern show. Some people’s summer visitors are their children.
“Does Whoopi really have to swear all the time?” another supporter noted in agreement.
Goldberg responds to criticism
Recently, Goldberg attacked those who made fun of topics discussed in “The View” that many people feel too relaxed about.
“The thing about these stories that we keep bringing you is that we don’t have any more information than what we’ve found out,” Goldberg noted in response to the co-hosts’ discussion of a story about a friend who was criticized by his future wife for allowing his mother choose an engagement ring.
She said, “But it’s damn fun to talk about,” to laughter from the other hosts.

Goldberg also suggested that she would like to have some time to film Sister Act 3, raising suspicions that she will be leaving “The View” this week.
“I’ve been trying for six years,” Goldberg admitted to Entertainment Tonight. “No one cared, I was told. People need to think about it for a while before they realize they should stop talking.”
It’s on the way. It has to be shot, but it’s happening,” she continued. “You’re never completely satisfied with the script because, among other things, you want to have room for possible editing. Sometimes what sounds right on paper doesn’t translate well into speech. It needs to be rearranged a bit, but I believe everyone will be satisfied.
Since 2007, Goldberg has presided as “The View” host. It is unclear whether she will leave the show of her own volition or at the request of ABC.
“The View” has a long history of rotating co-hosts and diverse perspectives, making it a staple of daytime television. Whether there is a change in the co-host line-up or not, the show will likely continue to be a platform for lively discussions on a wide range of topics, reflecting the diverse opinions of its hosts and guests.
As the discussions surrounding “The View” unfold, viewers will be eager to see how the future of the show unfolds and whether Chelsea Clinton or another candidate joins the panel as a co-host. The program’s enduring popularity and influence in shaping public discourse make it a topic of ongoing interest and debate among its devoted fan base.
In the world of daytime talk shows, where opinions are as diverse as the hosts themselves, “The View” remains a dynamic and ever-evolving part of the media landscape.
