Tragic loss: Vancouver father fatally attacked on Starbucks terrace while protecting daughter
It was supposed to be a routine Sunday evening outing, a pleasant family visit to Starbucks for Paul Stanley Schmidt, his fiancee, and their three-year-old daughter. Little did they know that this seemingly ordinary evening would quickly turn into a heart-wrenching tragedy….
Paul Stanley Schmidt, who accompanied his fiancee and daughter, 3, to Starbucks, planned it to be a routine Sunday evening outing. He and several other customers stood outside on the cafe’s terrace while his fiance and daughter ordered their favorite drinks inside. His daughter was in the pram next to him.
One of the patrons who was waiting in line next to Paul was smoking next to his daughter. Paul asked the man if he could stop vaping so he could protect his young daughter from the smoke.

That’s when everything started to go south. The two men got into a brief argument that quickly got out of hand.
A tragic and terrible end to a beautiful dream and an even sweeter family. 32-year-old “Inderdeep Singh Gosal” is a suspect, according to police.

Vaper pulled out a knife and within seconds began stabbing Paul repeatedly. Paul fought for his life, eventually losing the battle due to his injuries, before collapsing in a pool of his own blood on the terrace. He died instantly, just outside the entrance to the shop.
Inderdeep Singh Gosal, a 32-year-old man who is said to be pro-Chalistan, was the person found to be holding the knife. After being immediately charged with second-degree murder, he was taken into custody without incident. Defense and plea information has not yet been released.

He watched the murder…
Paul Stanley Schmidt’s mother, Kathy Schmidt, expresses her “anger and sadness” over her son’s death. She continued: “It’s so horrible what happened and my son was just trying to protect his daughter. She also stated that Ashley, his girlfriend, was forced to watch the whole thing.
Schmidt is considered a devoted family man who put his daughter and fiancee before anything else. For the previous five years, he had been employed by the moving company Jiffy Move, and his salary was the only source of money for his family. That family has nothing left at this point, not even the father.

Paul worked incredibly hard and was a lovely person. He was a devoted husband and father, according to Sean Collings, Jiffy Move’s operations manager. He added that his 200-300 employees are like a close family and they all know each other and that they are all grieving Paul’s unfortunate and horrific death.
The family of Paul Stanley Schmidt is asking people not to share the graphic videos.

The victim’s half-brother, Jessica Fox Foto, stated: “Someone stole my brother’s life yesterday and another person filmed it (DO NOT WATCH) instead of calling the police and worse put it on social media very clearly for viewing. She demanded that the user instantly downloads the video from social networks.
Deputy Vancouver Police Department Sgt. Steve Addison, supported this claim. You don’t need me to remind you that it’s inappropriate to share gory, obscene footage of someone’s final moments. He said of the video: “Anyone with a sense of good taste knows it’s inappropriate.”
Please help the family of Paul Stanley Schmidt.
Professor Moira Aikenhead of the University of Victoria emphasized this point. “If there are enough people filming something, some of them will share it without thinking much about it. They don’t consider the damage that spreading more of these types of images could do to society as a whole or to other people.”
