The Marietta High School student who was known as a “positive light” sadly died on September 18th when her car crashed into a tree and burst into flames while she was trapped inside.
The city of Marietta, Georgia is mourning the loss of Liv Teverin, an amazing young woman who died in a single-vehicle crash on September 18th at approximately 5:30 p.m.
Rescuers found a 16-year-old girl trapped in her 2016 Volvo XC90, which was “engulfed in flames” after it crashed into a tree less than a mile from her school. She was a scholar, athlete, and community activist.
“After the fire was extinguished, they discovered the wedged driver, who has since been identified as Liv Teverino, 16, of Marietta. Severino was killed in the crash, according to the Marietta Police Department.
Trying to come to terms with her sad loss, Liv’s close circle of friends and family gathered at the crash site and in the school parking lot where Liv usually parked her car to mourn at a memorial of flowers and notes that it was largely made of yellow, her favorite colors.
According to family friend Carly Manuel, whom everyone adored, Liv was “just an American kind of girl.” She was a really nice girl. She was great,” commented Manuel. It doesn’t matter who you are, she always gives it her all. She left too soon, unfortunately.
Marietta Mayor Steve Tumlin has known the young lady since grade school; his granddaughter was Liv’s close friend. We are aware of its promising potential, noted Tumlin. “She had a powerful presence and everyone she met was touched by her sweet, sweet presence in our city.”
Grant Rivera, superintendent of Marietta City Schools, asserted that Liv, a member of the Cobb Youth Leadership Cohort, “left an indelible mark of excellence” in everything she did. “We remember not only her accomplishments,” Rivera wrote in a statement, “but the heart, spirit and determination with which she achieved them.”
Enrolled in the IB program at Marietta High School, Liv was part of the cross-country team that won the state championship. According to her coach, Jack Coleman, she was an outstanding athlete who consistently encouraged her teammates.
She was unable to compete in the Cobb County Cross Country Championships the weekend before she died due to a recent ankle injury, Coleman said, adding that “there are athletes and then there are great people and she’s a great person. ” She stayed there, however, supporting the team. Liv was the “positive light of the team”, she was always upbeat and optimistic about everything.
On social networks, friends are flooding with letters of condolence.
In a touching tribute to her friend, Payton Konop, a varsity volleyball player at Marietta High School, writes that she “was the kindest, most beautiful, sweetest, Christ-filled girl you could ever meet.”
There really wasn’t a critical or judgmental bone in her body, despite what I think everyone wants us to say. She was by my side the whole time. the best friend who was always there. She was intelligent and imaginative, constantly outperforming me in tests, Payton continues. I will miss the way she loved so dearly. Her kind soul was taken home prematurely.
Friends responded to her post, expressing their condolences and unwavering support for Liv. “Payton, that was a great idea. Each of us will always carry a piece of her joyful heart.
