University Students Found Dead in Dorm Room in Apparent Murder-Suicide

Just days after celebrating their graduations, two young women at the university of wisconsin-platteville were found dead under mysterious circumstances in their dorm room—an incident that has left campus shaken and questions swirling about what really happened behind closed doors.

With only a small amount of information disclosed and a verdict of murder-suicide, many are curious to know if there is more to the story that has not been revealed. 

The authorities have concluded that the shooting incident at the university of wisconsin-platteville is considered a murder-suicide. 

Two students were found with gunshot wounds in Wilgus Hall, a student residence, and a university spokesperson confirmed the incident to the media. 

They have been identified as 22-year-old hallie helms and kelsie martin. 

The exact time of the incident is still being investigated, but officials believe it took place on Monday, May 19, around 4 p.m. local time.

Martin, a psychology major and assistant resident director, was initially taken to southwest health and later transferred to uw hospital, where she tragically passed away. Helms, who had a background in elementary education, was pronounced dead at the location of the incident. 

Initial autopsy findings suggest that helms died from a gunshot wound inflicted upon himself, while martin’s death was a result of a gunshot wound. 

The university stated: based on the preliminary autopsy findings, there is strong evidence suggesting a murder-suicide. 

At this point, authorities are of the opinion that no other individuals were involved in the incident. 

According to the university’s graduation records, Martin earned a degree in psychology and Helms graduated with a degree in primary education on Saturday, May 17th.

The university also announced that counseling services are available to students and staff, and final exams have been postponed for the remainder of the week. 

Wisconsin governor Tony Evers also addressed the situation through social media, confirming that he had been informed about the matter.
