William and Harry reunited to unveil a new statue of their late mother Diana a year ago on what would have been her 60th birthday. A bronze statue of Diana with her three children was erected in the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace, the former residence of the actress in London.
“Today, on what would have been our mother’s 60th birthday, we remember her love, strength, and character – qualities that made her a force for good around the world, changing countless lives for the better,” the couple wrote in a joint statement…
“Every day we wish she was still with us and we hope this statue will forever be seen as a symbol of her life and her legacy.”
This year marks the 25th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death. William and Harry, two brothers, honored their mother but did so separately.
A royal source who spoke to People Magazine claimed that William and Kate Middleton enjoyed a quiet day in Windsor.
Harry spoke about his mother ahead of the anniversary on 31 August and expressed his desire to make her proud.
Princess Diana: Charles and Camilla’s relationship
On the anniversary, Harry commented: “I want it to be a day full of memories of her incredible work and love for how she did it.” “I want my children, who I wish could meet my mother, to experience my mother’s spirit on this day.” I want her to be proud every day.”
Diana, like everyone else, struggled with personal matters despite living a very public life. One of the princess’s main problems at the time was her husband, Prince Charles.
