When She Woke Up, She Was Shocked to Find a 5-Meter Snake Next to Her Bed. Where Did It Come From? Everyone Should Be Cautious at Home.

A huge snake that spent ten years on the roof of an Australian house tried to get into the master bedroom.

After waking up on Monday, Trina Hibberd from Mission Beach, Queensland, found her 5.2m bush python named Monty had stretched from her living room to her bedroom.

Monty managed to turn on the light and knock over the lamp before snake catcher Dave Goodwin arrived.

Mr Goodwin wrapped the snake around his forearm before catching it in a plastic home cooking jug.

He told the BBC he “suffocated [his] hand to death” before putting the 40kg snake in the bath.

“When you get close to them, they have this real deep gurgling in their throat, which in other words means, don’t come near me,” he stated.

Mr. Goodwin first seized the snake by the head with pincers and urged it to hold on to the arm.

The unusual encounter between Trina Hibberd and her longtime python, Monty, is a reminder of the fascinating but sometimes unsettling coexistence between humans and wildlife.

After ten years of living on her roof, Monty’s unexpected trip to the master bedroom underscores the unpredictability of nature. His attempt to investigate the home not only frightened Trina but also provided a dramatic moment for snake catcher Dave Goodwin as he skillfully handled a large snake.

Goodwin’s expertise in handling Monty reflects the importance of trained professionals dealing safely with wild animals. His description of the python’s behavior illustrates the inherent challenges and risks in such situations. The deep gurgle that Monty makes is a warning that emphasizes the need for respect and caution when dealing with wild animals.

Ultimately, this incident underscores the importance of understanding and appreciating the wildlife that shares our environment. It serves as a reminder that while encounters with creatures like Monty can be startling, they also offer an opportunity to reflect on our relationship with nature. As we navigate these interactions, fostering a sense of compassion and awareness can help ensure harmonious coexistence with the fascinating wildlife that surrounds us.
