Sadly, Will Reeve suffered further tragedies before reaching adolescence. Will’s mother, Dana Reeve, died of lung cancer in 2006 when he was just 13 years old, barely two years after he lost his father. A young child went from two parents to none in 17 months.
One of his mother’s last wishes was for Will Reeve to spend his early years in Bedford, New York with a family friend after she died. She wanted him to stay close to the people he spent his childhood and adolescence with, so she made that happen before she died.
Although his father directed several television shows in which Will Reeve appeared several times as a child actor, acting was not the scene in which Will found success. After deciding to pursue English and American literature as a career, he eventually earned a bachelor’s degree in English and literature from Middlebury College in 2014.
He began working for ESPN as a commentator in late 2014 and stayed until 2018, hosting the MSG Hockey Show during that time. As of 2018, he is employed as a correspondent for “all ABC News platforms (digital, radio, linear TV) and programming,” according to his LinkedIn page.
