Despite being 89 years old and still going strong, Willie Nelson travels the country with the Nelson family. He just revealed to the public for the first time that he had a very pressing health problem at the beginning of this year, a situation he had kept quiet about until now.
While the band was on tour last May, Willie Nelson revealed that a member of his family had tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, Willie Nelson decided to cancel their headline performance at Jazz Fest.
The audience first learned the name of the secret band member with Willie’s recent revelation that he was actually impersonating a member of the band.
According to The New York Times, the 89-year-old country icon slept on her tour bus before heading to Nashville. They claimed he complained of difficulty breathing when he woke up in the middle of the night. Currently, the COVID-19 virus has been detected in Willie’s rapid PCR test results.
The fact that he was 89 years old at the time only makes the matter worse because it makes him more vulnerable to the complexity of the virus.
“I had an asthma nebulizer on the bus. Then I started working on Paxlovid and anything else I could. He had monoclonal antibodies in his body. He was on steroids,” Willie Nelson’s wife, Anna, told the media about their experience.
To monitor Willie Nelson’s health and ensure he fully recovered from his illness, they took an entire medical unit with them to the ranch when they returned to their home in Spicewood, Texas.
“We converted the house into a clinic. Sometimes I doubted if it would work,” she dodged again.
Two weeks after the COVID-19 scare, Nelson resumed the tour with shows in New Braunfels, Texas. Nelson’s recovery from a health crisis related to the COVID-19 virus took six days.
“It wasn’t easy for me to cope with it at all. That’s for sure: SOVID has nothing to turn on,” says Willie.
Willie Nelson and His Family Band will open the 2022 Farm Aid Music Festival on Sept. 24 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Other headliners include John Mellencamp, Margot Price, Chris Stapleton, and Sheryl Crow. artists who will perform at the concert.
