Lizzy Musi, a stage 4 breast cancer patient, dies surrounded by her family after a year-long battle.
Street racer Lizzy Musi has died after being diagnosed with stage four breast cancer, her father said.
The Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings star, who is based in Mooresville, North Carolina, took time off last year due to her health.
“Surrounded by her family and in the comfort of her own home, Lizzy was called to heaven today at 11:25 p.m.,” read a Facebook message posted by Musio’s well-known father, Pat.
“I appreciate all the prayers and good vibes you sent her when she was sick.
“The family would like some time to deal with their grief and make plans without being disturbed at this time.”
“We will update as soon as we have information to share.”
The racer became an inspiration to women and girls after taking first place in three consecutive competitions during the 2019 season of Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings.
She broke the 200 mph mark in the eighth mile of the race, clocking a speed of 3.802 seconds.
Lizzy Musi made history in July 2014 when she won the Professional Drag Racers Association USA Drags, becoming the first woman to win a national Pro Nitrous competition.
The 33-year-old contestant, who has openly revealed she has stage 4 triple-negative breast cancer – one of the most serious forms – has been receiving tributes from the public.
Despite the fact that Musi’s cancer had progressed to her liver and lymph nodes, she was enthusiastic about her condition.
While undergoing cancer treatment in Germany, she said she had “great news” last month.
The driver indicated that she was headed to the Medias Klinikum treatment clinic in Burghausen, Germany, but did not say anything more.
“I’ve tried pretty much everything here in the U.S. and I’ve looked at doctors and treatments in Germany that can isolate my liver and treat it,” Lizzy told Drag Illustrated earlier this month.
One admirer commented: “This hurts my heart” under Pat’s Facebook post about Musa.
“She was such an example for girls. I enjoyed watching her compete.”
Someone described her as “one of the best racers”.
“Her positive, happy personality was a great example to our younger generation.” This is real, it’s unbelievable.
sincere condolences to her family. Lizzy, take to the skies.”
I adore you my soul mate.
Musi recently publicly expressed her gratitude to her fiance Jeffrey Earnhardt – the grandson of famed Nascar driver Dale Earnhardt – for his unwavering support.
“This guy has supported me like no other from sleepless nights in the ER and dealing with my health to cheering me on at my races,” Musi wrote on social media.
“After a long offseason, he performed admirably last weekend. Gotta watch him in action.”@jearnhardt1 #thanks #uniqueness #love”
They began dating after splitting with contestant Kyle Kelley in late 2023.
In January, Musi shared an emotional post on Facebook that revealed details about her relationship with Earnhardt.
“I found a man when I least expected it, besides going through the worst time of my life…it didn’t change him and he has loved me unconditionally ever since,” she wrote.
“Hair or no hair, he saw me at my worst, sick or not…” I had countless phone calls praising my strength and beauty; even when I FaceTime without a wig, I get compliments like “Jeffrey Earnhardt, I’m seriously grateful for you.”
On Instagram, followers called Earnhardt their “soul mate” and thanked him for “loving her the way she deserved” until the end.
Earnhardt has accepted his condolences but has yet to release a statement on her passing.
He gave us an update on Musio’s return to racing in late April after her Bonnie 69-themed Camaro race at Virginia Motorsport Park.
The unit and she were “firing on all cylinders,” according to her husband.

The rider was taken to hospital, but the injury eventually claimed his life.
His girlfriend Courtney Paulshock confirmed the news in an emotional Facebook post, saying she was “shaken” after losing “her person”.

She wrote on Instagram: “It’s hard to hide in your head.”
“Everyone knows how dangerous it is to drive in these cars.
While we were filming street shows in Vegas and California, I had the opportunity to race with Nate.
“A true street racer and an outstanding person!”
“Godspeed.”
Regarding Nate and Paulshock’s relationship, Musi asked his followers to pray for his broken lady.
