The heartbreaking story of six-year-old Dominick Krankall, who was brutally attacked by an eight-year-old prankster in Connecticut, has sent shockwaves through the community and beyond.
A Connecticut prankster ruined a six-year-old boy’s life by setting him on fire. The other boy doused the tennis ball in petrol, set it on fire, and then threw it at the six-year-old victim’s face, setting her on fire. Despite the fact that the young victim, Dominick Krankall, survives the heinous attack, he is not out of the woods as he battles severe second and third-degree burns to his face and legs.
“My six-year-old brother could have died. The child doused the ball with gasoline, set it on fire, and threw it at him. “It happened in a matter of seconds,” the victim’s sister, Kayla Deegan, wrote on the GoFundMe page. “He will be scarred for life, mentally and physically.”
Dominick, a little boy, was playing with other children in his family’s backyard on Louisiana Avenue in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He was with other children who are said to be tenants at the residence when one of them decided to play with fire.
Deegan said the eight-year-old neighbor entered the property and broke into a shed where he obtained gasoline, lighters, and a tennis ball, which he later threw in Dominick’s face. According to the nurse, when the bully threw the ball at Dominick, he “ran away and watched it burn.”
Dominick “remains in fair condition,” according to John Cappiello, a spokesman for the hospital where he is being treated. The boy happened to be staying near the Connecticut Burn Center at Bridgeport Hospital, one of only sixty-two such facilities in the entire United States.
Deegan was furious that her brother had been attacked.
“(The attacker) has a history of bullying and has gotten away with it a lot.” His mother believes he is innocent. “The family thinks it’s a joke,” Deegan wrote. “Even though Dominick couldn’t speak because he was in a lot of pain and swollen, he said to my mother, ‘Please don’t take me back there’.” This is totally unfair and should never happen to ANY CHILD!!! We demand justice for Dominick.”
Authorities have not yet filed charges against the eight-year-old boy who set the six-year-old on fire by throwing a flame in his face.
Deegan spoke to NBC New York about the attack and her desire for authorities to take action to bring her brother to justice.

Dominick’s family is hoping for the best for their son. People can donate to them online. The money will be spent on hospital bills and also on finding a new safe place to live.
