“They really had the same ideas. He winked at Luke who smirked. “Now I’m upgrading my favorite to chocolate because my two favorites love chocolate.
Luke and Mike grew closer over time as they grew closer. They would enjoy precious time together when Mike took him to baseball games.
Claire and Luke were ecstatic when Mike asked them out and eagerly replied, “Yes!”
“Congratulations! So now I can call you Daddy!” Luke hugged them. “However, Mike – I hope it’s okay – my late father will always be my favorite person. I respected him more than anyone else.”
“No problems sir,” Mike said, hugging Luke and Claire. “It doesn’t matter if I place first or second. I’m glad you’re here with me Claire.”
On Claire and Mike’s wedding day, Luke was the happiest man alive.
It was an honor for him to walk his mother down the aisle. “Mom, do you realize I’m going to walk you down the aisle?” “I want to do it,” he told her. His mother said, “You can do it, honey, of course.” I really hope so. you do.”
Pulling a box from his pocket, Luke led Claire down the aisle and placed her hands in Mike’s. He then gave it to his mother and said, “Dad wanted you to open it now.”
“There’s something I have to tell you before you open it, Mom,” he said, pulling a letter from another pocket. “When Dad was in the hospital he wrote it, I’d like to read it.
Luke began to read the letter from his late father and Claire began to shake.
Luke, you both have my undying affection and I know your mother will too. That’s okay though, because eventually, she’ll bring another man to our home. Both you and your mother have a right to be happy, but you need to make sure it’s someone who cares for both of you. And I already admire him if he is the man. You also have to show him respect. However, it is up to you to determine his true intentions, and how he treats her, and leads her to the alley where this man will be waiting for her. The best man must be chosen for your mother! “Mom, you can open the box now. he said.
Claire opened the box with a strange excitement and noticed another letter addressed to her in addition to Andy’s wedding ring.
Luke has undoubtedly chosen the ideal man for you. I will Always Love You. I know you’re not happy to move on and I know how to make you better. Kindly place the ring on your future husband’s ring finger. Constantly remind him that you can only be the wife of a strong, honest man.”
Noticing that his mother was very upset and unable to stop the tears streaming down her cheeks, Luke walked over to her and whispered, “Mike deserves it, Mom.” “I know he’ll be the best dad for me…and he’ll love you, just like dad,” the young man continued. I appreciate it, Mike.
Mike was also moved to tears. “I will never let you down, champion,” he promised Luke as he hugged him. I swear.”
