And then the audio — a recording my investigator had captured of Marshall, relaxed and expansive, telling someone that he was only staying married to me long enough to get control of my family’s company.
Nadia burst into tears.
Marshall, cornered, did what cornered men do — he turned on her, snapped that she had seduced him, and when that didn’t move me, he wheeled around and accused me of setting the whole thing up.
“You married me to steal my company,” I said.
“Whatever happened in that bed is just the part that finally showed.

Then I picked up my phone and called my brother.
