Chapter 20 — A Woman’s Voice
I picked up my smartwatch from the desk, and I strapped it securely around my left wrist, the same wrist that had worn it on the rug, and in the ICU, and on the courthouse steps.
The cool metal pressed against my skin, a permanent reminder of a truth I had learned at the very edge of my own death: that a woman’s voice, when it is captured, and preserved, and wielded with unyielding courage, possesses the power to shatter empires built on lies.
I took one last look around the sunlit office.
