“Come get your worthless daughter and take her back,” my mother-in-law shouted my father as I lay broken at the bottom of the stairs after my husband shoved me down. “Your family will answer for it if she has even a scratch,” was the sole warning Dad offered her. They had no notion who my father really was, so they made fun of him.
“My name included,” I said softly.
Laura looked at me with a great sadness.
“Your name was the main personal guarantor on a six-million-dollar credit facility.”
I never signed that paper,” I said emphatically.
“I know for sure that you didn’t sign it”, Laura shocked him revealing.
I was stunned.
‘How can you possibly know that for sure?
“Because I was the accountant who was supposed to organise the original loan application papers,” Laura admitted.
