Eighty-Seven Missed Calls
I looked directly at her. “You knew.”
She pressed her lips together. “Daniel has been unhappy for a long time.”
“How long have you known?”
“Several weeks.”
His sister lowered her eyes. The cousins stayed in the living room, but every conversation had stopped. Every one of them already knew. They had come to my house expecting me to cook them Thanksgiving dinner before Daniel replaced me.
